This sucks. He was one of my favorite players on the team. I wish him all the best and hope he finds success. Just curious if anyone knows if he got his spot taken????

We should have a solid lefty/righty 1-2 punch
    Ty Madden and Pete Hansen

Emails to season ticket holders went out this week, asking about wanting to renew for 2021. Like the other sports, seating will be limited. I'm renewing, but I doubt I'll get my usual seats about 5 rows up from the Texas dugout. They're still working on the schedule.

Can’t believe the schedule isn’t out yet, they should be having their first game here by February 1st or so right? (Under normal circumstances)

The first game last year was Valentine's Day. If I remember correctly, quite a few years ago they bumped the start of the season back a couple of weeks to allow the northern teams more time to thaw out before opening weekend.

Hearing more and more that may be conference only schedules. Good friend who is in the know at aggy (yes I have some good friends who are aggy) tells me SEC is very likely going to be conference only with four game series each weekend.

    From a Jan 8 article -
Report: Big 12 Conference to vote on upcoming baseball schedule

According to Kendall Rogers of D1 Baseball, the head coaches of the conference have agreed to a season schedule that will have 32 conference games. Nonconference scheduling will be up to the discretion of the schools, according to his tweet on Thursday.

Fortunately, most of the players from the 2020 campaign are returning in 2021, minus:
    - P Bryce Elder who was drafted by the Atlanta Braves.
    - CF Duke Ellis was signed by the Chicago White Sox
    - P Kam Fields entered the transfer portal.

The top players returning will be Ty Madden, Zach Zubia and Austin Todd. Head coach David Pierce’s squad will certainly be one to keep an eye on.

I'd be interested to hear where other season ticket holders ended up for 2021. After 38 years in Section 2, I'll be in R3 (Right Field3). I guess I won't be able to call those close plays at first base this season...

I’ve been in Section 2 in both versions of the seating bowl. I have moved to Section 11 for the 2021 season. It will be weird sitting on the third-base side.

I would feel the same way about being on the third base side. On a positive note, nice shade in the hottest part of the season.

To you season ticket holders, anything said about single game ticket availability this year?

UT is not selling any game tickets except to full season ticket holders. Those have already been filled, so no more tickets coming from UT. I called the school and they told me I would have to get them from Stubhub.

I'm just now seeing that flosports will be broadcasting the opening tournament :brickwall: why are these matchups not on TV for everyone to see instead of the overpriced with terrible content flosports

Another revenue stream for the organizers. I am ok with it for the non/low revenue sports, but why flosports?

I haven't had the chance to follow much (actually any) yet this year. Someone please give me the rundown on our pitching depth this season. IMHO, quality pitching depth is the name of the game in college ball. Thanks in advance.

We have an ace in Ty Madden. I'm not sure we know after that. Tanner Witt has looked decent in relief, but the bullpen blew the game Saturday. By the time Witt came in it was too late. I certainly don't see 3 strong starters.

The K percentage for Texas hitters went down a bit over the weekend, but there were still some very ugly third swings and misses.

So if we want to attend a game we have to drive to the Disch, cross our fingers, and hope there's enough tix to go around? I don't understand the logic of this approach - do they want lines to appear 6 hours before game time so that only the hardcore fans will be able to attend? Maybe that's a good thing, I don't know, but it seems odd to me.
