I'll intentionally say "fixin to" around Yankees sometime just to draw some confusion and mutual laughs.

Vol Horn 4 Life Good Bye To All The Rest!

It was teased out of me by my yankee cousin and his friends. What are you going to fix? And crap like that.

    Synergy.

At least I wish this word wasn't used anymore. Fortunately its use is now much rarer. A 1980s-1990s corporate buzz word that was WAY OVERUSED!

These words have just recently made a comeback around these parts:

    Pulling Guard

    Fullback

    Tight End

Road Grader (still not getting enough use yet)

    WorsterMan SEC here we come!!

For years I've been saying "frisky" when describing myself or others. It can mean mischievious / rascally, a little naughty, fresh after a shower or amorous.

Recently I've found myself saying "groovy" . It can mean cool, I'm feeling groovy or I can use it in a snarky / sarcastic way.

Lately, I'm also am fond of saying: "knickers".... as in he got it in the knickers or I'd like to get into hers!

Punk - when used to mean sick or ill.

This one confused the heck out of me, when I was a young teen, feeling under the weather, and my Grandma asked if I "was feeling punk"?

I didn't know whether to answer: (i) "not really, hard rock is more my style," or (ii) "what, is my hair standing up all spikey or something?"

One of my favorite stories from the 1980s..Three men were captured stealing North Korean State secrets. They are granted one last wish. The Frenchman ask to sing the French national anthem. The Japanese asks that he be allowed to deliver a lecture on continuous process improvement. The American asks that he be executed before his companion's last wishes are granted.

Your synergy comments made me think if “outside the box”. I felt if I heard that one more time I would put someone “inside” a box.
