Took longer than expected for a P5 program that supposedly offered a compelling opportunity. I still stick to my guns that Washington is still a better job. To convince a quality coach like Coach Langley to pick up and move far from Houston speaks volumes for UW. Oklahoma’a new coach reminds me of Coach Coale. Time will tell if Oklahoma hired the right coach.

Good entry point for her first head coaching job. But tough conference to win at the sole small private school in the SEC.

Makes me wonder if Oregon State might bump Katie Faulkner if they’re afraid they might lose her now that the associate head coach title is available.

We pay our assistants very well. I read somewhere that the PAC12 as a whole doesn't pay their coaches well compared to the other P5's. Mississippi State just hired Arizona's assistant and recruiting coordinator today, as well as an assistant from Sweet 16 Michigan.

Agreed. I think KA will be happy at UTSA and will most likely give the other mid majors a run for their money.

He was probably ready for his next challenge. I think he's been pretty well on record about not having HC dreams, so helping Johnnie build at Auburn is probably something that was quite appealing to him as TAMU will be on auto-pilot for a while unless there is some kind of drop off when Kelly Bond takes over.

I also expect that he would be her associate HC since he is may times the senior to the rest of the Auburn staff. And look for this open A&m vacancy to potentially go to Blair assuming she is ready to leave her fathers side and venture out on her own

Stranger things have happened, but Blair replacing Starkey seems a stretch. I guess we will see....

Agreed. I think the Anriel Howard transfer caused quite the friction for a minute. That Auburn hire makes me wonder if Gary about to hang it up. Something smells fishy in College Station right now. Time to make some calls. Lol

Her experience makes her a perfect candidate to backfill Johnnie as well should she be interested in staying in coaching!!

Also, LSU would be happy to have the kind of success KA had here at Texas. Also wish she would’ve left earlier so Johnnie could’ve gotten a look. That would absolutely be a better job than Auburn

Is Mulkey pushing for a Baylor raise or is she serious about Louisiana. I would say a little of both and she could take most of the team with her.

Nah. She can't diss her home state. She's gotta go home to see family and to say that her private school in Texas is way better than the flagship university of her birth state would not be PC.
