Sunday reviews: No. 4 Baseball completes sweep of Kansas State - University of Texas Athletics Ivan Melendez hits two more home runs in 9-2 win as No. 4 Texas sweeps Kansas
And now if just Abilene Christian’s baseball isn’t much like their basketball... (against us anyway...)
Horns have taken care of business so far - and have great momentum going. Hope it continues - TCU won't be easy.
On softball forum, it was mentioned that ncaa may pick pre-determined sites due to covid. In other words, Texas may have a regional regardless (due to our money and capability). Super-regional with just two teams may be like normal or all the teams play in just 2-4 locations instead of eight.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/spor...8a9f94-96ee-11eb-8f0a-3384cf4fb399_story.html In a recent memo to Division I baseball and softball administrators, NCAA sports directors said schools are invited to bid to be among 16 regional hosts in each sport. Those sites will be announced the week of April 26 for softball and the week of May 10 for baseball. Eight super-regional sites will be selected from among the 16 regional sites.
This is so stupid. Vaccines for 18-20 year olds is nearly 100% effective. They should only test non-vaccinated folks.
Yes, we will likely get a super regional regardless. What happens if 2 teams meet in super regionals that were not among the 16 regional hosts? Play at a neutral field? I presume so. Thus Texas may be assured of a super regional even though Texas is not guaranteed to advance to enjoy it.
