Some good fodder for debate/discussion/critique here... 2021 Big 12 spring football overreactions: Oklahoma leaning on defense, Texas struggling with passing game
Kansas: “Freshmen lead the way for the Jayhawks.” And with a new coach. Could they be looking at 1-10 or even 0-11?
I wouldn't write off the Texas passing game just yet. After all, they were going against a defense that knew exactly what they were going to do.
Is he? Or is it a badass OL? I'd really really love to have both of those things again. We are halfway there at least.
With a good OC, the running and passing games will feed off each other. One will open the other up, and vice versa. I’m hopeful for both.
True, a badass OL is an RB’s best friend in turn. But I would posit that an elite RB can make up for some deficiencies along the front.
Well sure. It all goes hand in hand. When VY was a freshman one of the first things I noticed was how much better he made the O-line look, because he could extend plays with those amazing feet of his. Yeah, some LB or DL may have slipped a block, but who cares when it ends up as a scramble for a 20 yard gain? He was the OL's best friend. By 2005 those guys grew up, got really nasty, and returned the favor and became VY's best friends. Lordy, I miss those days.
