Per OrangeBloods, WR CJ Williams of Santa Ana, CA has decided to run track this spring, so he's moved his Ohio State and Texas official visits to the fall.

a little QB smoke, take it for what its worth ...
most interesting part to me, if true, is that he is not actively recruiting for Ohio State ...

tOSU offered Ewere's best friend at Southlake earlier in the week. He is a high 2 to low 3* WR. Yup they are worried.

Per IT, OL Cameron Williams told them about two months ago that Texas was the one offer he didn't have that he really wanted.

He's been speaking with Coach Flood a lot recently and hopes to visit Texas this summer, but he does have four official visits scheduled at this point.

They think Williams could be the guy who helps UT start changing the narrative that they can't recruit Duncanville.

If for some reason Ewers makes a U turn, what does that do to Maalik's commitment?

I don't think he changes his mind. Not the first year anyway cause he can learn much from Sark.

Texas was always intending to take two QBs in this class.

So simply recruiting another QB won't do anything to the relationship with Murphy. If Ewers does flip back to Texas, then Murphy will either welcome the competition or decommit. He may feel having Ewers around will make him better, especially in passing. You can't teach speed so Murphy could have something over Ewers as far as running the ball.

Question: Why is everyone so enamored with Ewers? He wasn't the best QB on the field in state championship last year (that guy committed to Clemson). In Sark I trust. According to the recruiting press reports, the fact that Texas has yet to deploy a full court press approach on the recruitment of Ewers speaks volumes. Wish the young man all the best at tOSU. We have a guy that resembles Mahomes like talent. Let's roll with the super talented Malik.

In a one-game battle of two of the best QB recruits in the nation, that one game is enough to make you not enamored?

Not quarreling with your optimism, but Westlake’s defense was 10x better than SLC’s. Westlake averaged giving up about 3 points a game the whole season, and beat North Shore the game before SLC. Klubnik did look great in that game, but I had never seen Ewers before, and my take in that game was that he was everything they had said he was. He has an arm like a top-10 NFL QB.

There's athletic talent and then there's QB talent. Right now both Malik and Ewers are simply mirages at this stage in the game with Ewers having the most experience and promise to being real. Personally I have a very hard time putting Malik and Mahomes in the same sentence. Malik is miles from Mahomes but I understand your affinity for Malik.

There have been many comments over the past seasons about the weakness of our linebacking corp. But Sark has come in with Thor's hammer and pulverized that sentiment especially if Gaoteote joins the team. "Not in my house" says Sark wagging his finger. With all that Sark has done thus far all I can say is "wow". And we are just getting started.

While I don’t disagree, I think it’s fare to say, we didn’t see Mahomes and Mahomes in the same sentence when he was at TTU.

"We" may not have, but I kept hearing from pro scouts that "the kid at Texas Tech" was "special" and/or "the best QB out there". I'm glad he went to Lamar's franchise and a place he could be developed.

I thought Ewers looked great in that game, especially considering that he had recently returned from a sports hernia. I have seen him in a couple of other games and he can make all of the throws. His running ability was limited in the championship game.

As long as he doesn’t make a ewe turn. That might put him in Brazos County.

My guess is he flips to us once he sees Sark’s offense and as it gets closer to him having to move to Ohio.

I am hoping we get Manning for 2023

    Who else is tOSU recruiting?
    Will he have competition there?
He may not want to compete with Card, Murphy and possibly Manning if they pretty much just make him the starter there.
I don't like that he decommitted to begin with.
What's to keep him from flipping again or hitting the portal after he gets here?
    Meh, leave him be.
Move on with players that really want to be here.

I don't know, but it won't be some random 2 star scrub.

    Of course he will.

Me either, but given all the stuff that has come to light regarding Tom Herman's relationship with many of the players, I also don't blame him.

Nothing at all, but that is true of every single player in the NCAA these days thanks to the portal policy changes.
