That's about the current pecking order in the Big 12, as I see it (although TCU may take the conference title). Absent a melt down, we should be looking at a home field advantage in the playoffs until Omaha.

Arkansas has 79 homeruns on the year. :yikes:

Our team ERA is 2.92--ahead of all the Top 25 teams except Indiana.

    We're 15th in fielding %.

We're #8 in hits allowed per 9 innings.

    What a Defense! :bevo:

But... we're not even in the top 50 in scoring.

OU beat Tech last night 9-8 in opening game of that series so Tech is now mathematically eliminated from winning Big XII even though they took both series against Texas and TCU.

I spoke for a while with an aggie yesterday, and a little bit of his logic must have rubbed off on me. You see, the ags beat us, so that makes them the best team in Texas this year.

TCU dropped 6 places this week (to #12) after dropping a series this past weekend to UL-Monroe, while Texas moved up 3 spots (to #2) after Vandy lost its series against Ole Miss.

Just about everyone has Arkansas as #1. Their power hitting is quite impressive this year.

I believe RPI is the better one.

I’m going to opine that the coaches poll is the best. While they may have some in-conference bias, I think that coaches generally know the game better than media folks.

In all of them, we have 2-3 Big 12 teams in the top 10. The poll with only 2 has TCU at 13.

Based on late season performance, I’d put Tech ahead of TCU.

If it's anything like football, the coaches rarely fill out their own ballots....or so I've heard.

    Ha!

Maybe I should have said the assistant coaches’ and/or trainers’ poll.

Fourth is as high as I would put Texas. To much Inconsistent play in games they should walk over the opponent. Also Tech at nine is about right.

I hope we win it all of course, and I think we have a fair shot. Objectively speaking, the writers are probably correct to put Arkansas in the top spot--at this point. Their power hitting often makes their games look like Church league slow pitch softball.

Agree. At some point in the playoff's, they will struggle, but right now it is hard to see them losing a 3 game set.
