If we go 0-6 against the same opponent, there is a problem. Just because those odds are hard, I'm betting we take the supers. It's super logic, I know (/s), but I'm glad to face someone familiar.

Now would be a great time for certain players to break out of their slumps...

    I'm speaking into existence!

Missing from the team photo is Popelka, Bailey Williams, and of course Adams. Curious as to why Popelka and Williams aren't making the trip

The formula for OSU is not unlike Oregon. Need to play pretty error free and score one and hold on. We have the hitting advantage and they have the pitching advantage. The back to back games forced White to use Molly otherwise the next day match up would have been identical. I thought Oregon had the advantage to go back to back but it was the other way around. Molly pitched down in the zone and it was hard to hit. We need a performance like that against OSU. Shea is a very good pitcher but she is more dominant when she does not need to pitch every inning.

I think for the team psyche we have to win game one. We are 2-11 against OSU going back to 2017. If we lose yet again Mike White better bring in a psychologist to keep them mentally in it because very few on the team knows what it feels like to beat OSU. Win the first game and all they are thinking about is we're finally getting payback.

    Just win the first game!

I think one of the keys to us winning is to play ahead, not from behind. If we can score early I think the pressure could play well for us. I agree with the earlier post that we need to play clean softball this weekend to have a chance of winning this thing. I know we are a better hitting team than we have shown and I expect the bats to come around this weekend. Lets remember its a best of 3...so no matter that happens tomorrow there will be softball Saturday...Hookem:hookem2:

Mary Iapoko must have the longest leash on the team.

Ugly terrible ABs. Almost have isn't they don't go over any approach.

Just because you had a good start against a crappy Oregon offense, we decide to start her game 1?

These coaching decisions are baffling to me.

We finally have a good AB and draw a walk. She will walks us if we are patient and can get some base runners.

Yes trailing by 3, lets get thrown out stealing.

Once again our offense has not shown up:brickwall:we used to be the team who wants a bunch of rubs scored but the way we have been batting lately, we need to keep these games as low scoring as possible. Mike White went with the defensive lineup but he made a mistake starting Jacobsen over O'leary with this lineup.

Connie Clark recruits having the best ABs Jefferson, Ellsworth, and Corona. Burke hit it hard too.

I know the homers get the loud cheers and the announcers excited but if we dont hit/score it doesnt matter. At this point we have like 3 or 4 hits...that wont win any games. I cant remember the last meaningful homer we have hit. Just seems like we have hit a wall with our scoring and bats. O'leary would not have held Okst scoreless. We must be better tomorrow.:bevo:

She wouldn't have held them scoreless but she has been much better than she was at the beginning of the season. They wouldn't have hit four home runs against her. Our defense was not bad at all today, it was pitching and HR's that cost us. We need more out of Iakopo, Rhodes, and Burke especially Rhodes!!!! I hope something changes tomorrow because this was hard to watch offensively.

We look over matched against both OK schools.

    We need to recruit better.

We definitely recruit better than Oklahoma State. Texas under Mike White has always had top 10 classes so recruiting is not the problem. Our lack of chemistry and leadership is why we are over matched. I don't expect this to last long because we do have a great recruiting class and I'm positive Mike White will hit the portal to find that go-to Ace for this team next season. That Elish opt out really hurt this team.

Our offense looks horrible. I don't understand this lineup order whatsoever

Yeah baby, we're still alive. Just when I was thinking the Oregon transfers have sucked in the postseason Iapoko hits a 2 run HR. Now Roads and Burke need to step up.

I don't know why Oleary would throw one right down the pike on a 1-2 count though. I was real worried this team couldn't handle having the lead, but Oleary came back with some good pitches to end it.

    So who pitches tomorrow?

I can’t say enough about how much I enjoy watching Coach White strategize. Brilliant move to start O’Leary on the second day! And his batting line up was just what the team needed. I do not understand the fair weather, Monday morning quarter back whiners on this site! This is the best Texas had ever looked in the history of the program. This team has over achieved and won 43 games with one and only one very good, but not elite, pitcher and are within one game of making the WCWS! We may not win tomorrow against Eberle, who is one of the top pitchers in the nation, but Coach White and the team could pull it off. I have to say Thank You Coach White for making this year an amazing ride no matter how this ends. :hookem3::hookem3::hookem3:

I think the momentum will carry over. Once Texas starts getting used to a pitcher and begins to figure her out they attack which is what they did today. All it takes is one rally and this team gets going! I do expect a pitcher's duel tomorrow.

I didn't get a chance to watch Game 1, but when I heard that Molly pitched instead of Shea, I thought, "Well, that sorta makes sense. Shea pitched all of Regionals, except one game, including extra innings against Oregon. Molly's hot off of a shutout. If it doesn't work out, we'll put in a more rested Shea for Game 2. That is, unless I have no idea what I'm talking about strategy-wise."

Of course, it'll be Shea for all the marbles tomorrow. You live or die with your best pitcher.

outstanding defensive play by Jefferson in the 7th. In my opinion, almost as important as Mary’s bomb.

That play took the wind out of OSU and took their fans out of the game. The 1st out in the 7th is the most important out.
