He and his family have done great humanitarian work. And not an ounce of scandal.
He is a fantastic representative for our university.

I have seen him getting involved in the SJW crap, so whatever he may have done is moot to me. He may be a great rep of the Tom Herman era.

Edit: If you like him, that's great. I'm not trying to convince you otherwise.

Yep and I couldn’t care let his or her opinion, but my opinion seems to be important to that poster.

I told you in Grapevine, everyone is entitled to your opinion; they are also entitled to be wrong if they disagree.

No one said / hinted anything about "scandal".... odd that you would use THAT word.

He seems to be a genuinely good person/ good player on the field, good in the lockeroom and was on campus, as far as I know. I am aware he, his brother and family have done a great many very positive humanitarian things.

However, IN MY OPINION, he expressed some unnecessary & damaging woke statements that reflected negatively on The University of Texas. That is what most here are replying about and objecting to....

Cnb, you sometimes seem to be on the wrong side of normal and rational discussions around here.

In this case, good deeds in the past outweigh current bad deeds?

Looks like this'll end up on West Mall or something before long. I guffawed at the "normal and rational discussions" line.

Respectfully, you certainly are entitled to all the guffawing at comments that you like. Knowing @WorsterMan somewhat well at this point, I doubt he disagreed with my succinct comment in Post #2.

Right on cue came the cry baby ideals and comments trying to sway us to, apparently, change our opinions of this guy. So, what was reasonable about telling us what our opinions on Acho should be, period?

I can quote him if you'd like, but I don't think he told anyone here to change opinions. Nor did he cry about it. You're the one who said "screw him" and he responded in a contrary, yet respectful, manner.

Adding in the fact that Worster (and apparently others) believe that there's a good-bad deeds spectrum involved in any of this nonsense, whether it's Acho's books or podcasts or TV appearances or commercials or whatever, I'm reminded of "Things That Make You Go Hmmm" by the great C+C Music Factory.

I think this is fair from your perspective.

Some people are not for some aspects of social justice as it can have some extreme elements. One of my best friends and one of our pastors are black men in their 40s and 50s. Great guys without hangups and definitely in the "easy for everyone to get along with" group. They have monthly/weekly experiences where I continue to see the need for public efforts to obliterate racist attitudes and behaviors. So I put up with a little of the extremism because the alternative is unacceptable to me.

I see Acho as a good/decent human who irritates me. lol I don't know if sanctimonious fits for me, but I think he thinks his "s" don't stink. lol

Made the mistake of watching the Colonial live and saw this stupid *** commercial.

I stand by my previous comments. What a tool.

To me Acho is the poster child for wokeness and “it’s all a lot me.” Perfect for ABC & ESPN.

Acho is all about Acho, and that was glaringly apparent very early, like on the set of the LHN. He had to be the smartest guy in the room, always, and the center of attention. He’s still that way.

It’s nauseating, but that’s what the management probably wants at ABC. As for me, I can’t watch him.

This- I couldn’t take him pregame as he was arrogant and disrespectful to the other commentators.
I’m sure he’s a nice enough fella, but he needed to tone it down.

His schtick has brought him success at ESPN. No surprise there. The louder and more obnoxious and woke he is, the more he will be one of their darlings.
