This cannot be good for recruiting. A&M has long been known for wasting & ruining talent (Rick Luecken & Randy Pryor for starters), and now they get a coach who can recruit and develop talent.

Aggy must have backed a Brinks truck up to his house. He is very respected at TCU, and I'm sure they wanted to keep him.

It will be hilarious if Adams let's Schlossnagle build a house in Miramont when he wouldn't sell Fisher a house or a lot.

Aggy playbook now: target a major coach immediately after a messy divorce (Jimbo, Schlossnaggy), then back up the Brink’s truck full of cash. It’s actually not a bad strategy

I know a lot of you on here are long time UT followers and alumni... I Have had the pleasure and disappointments of following UT since the late 60’s... There is one thing aggie has never achieved and thats national success in Mens sports ... Football regional success under Jackie and RC but no top 5 finishes... once in a while a cotton bowl victory..some good teams but no threat to win a NC... Basketball please- nothing to write home about... Baseball some good teams but Tcu- Rice and Texas Tech have accomplished more in the last 15 to 20 years than aggie has accomplished in there entire mediocre history... They could bring in anybody with a championship pedigree and they still wont win a championship... My dad used to say A/M stands for average and mediocre.

Meat judging is a men's sport, right? Oh wait, nope. It's coed and aggy frequently loses to TTU in that!

Aggies have for years borrowed a soils professor from Tech - tried to move her to Tarleton State.

All success in college sports are the coaching hires you make. That's what EVERYTHING comes down to period. A lot of people do not like to believe this, yet plenty of coaches have shown at UT, the other UT, USC, Notre Dame, Michigan, Alabama, etc, the coach you hire matters more than the name across your chest. Texas Baseball (excluding a Blair Cherry WW2 temporary stint) has only hired 5 coaches in 110 years because the first 4 were elite coaches! If Pierce can come through in Omaha, we may actually be 5 for 5 which is totally absurd in college sports in general!

Truthfully with A&M, they've hired some good coaches and some bad coaches but either haven't hired or haven't been able to keep great coaches. Unfortunately, they have finally hired two elite coaches in Jimbo and Schloss. It will now be put to the test to see if aggy players can out-aggy their great coaching hires. I do expect both coaches to continue to win big with the most sustained success A&M has ever seen in both football and baseball unfortunately. That said, hopefully there's enough bad aggy magic to prevent either from winning a national title.

I think their basketball hire is at best good, but nothing special. On a quick aside, some of my aggie friends bizarrely think that basketball coach is their best hire of the three.... which once again goes to show there is something wrong with the brains of aggies. Buzz Williams at this time is nowhere near on the level of the other two.

We have an elite basketball coach and a baseball coach working towards elite status. Whereas A&M's weak TBD link is basketball, our weak TBD link hire is currently football.

Anyway, enough aggy discussion. Texas is in Omaha and playing for another natty. Hook 'em!
