    The read is definitely worth it. It may be Dent's best book.

    I didn't realize they had made a movie. Coming out this week?

    Not yet. Watching NCAA baseball. I have a minor surgery on Wednesday, so my grandson and I will probably take a couple of his friends and go Thursday.

    WorsterMan SEC here we come!!

    I've been looking forward to the release of this movie. I had hoped to catch the movie last Sat. but couldn't, but I have a ticket to see it this evening!! This is a great story.

    Growing up in FW, I'm very familiar with the Masonic Home and read Jim Dent's book years ago.

    I was on the Wedgwood Jr. High team that scrimmaged the Masonic Home / School 9th grade team early fall 1968. I remember those kids had old uniforms, they were not well coached and some did not seem like they wanted to be there. I had empathy and felt sadness for them.

    I did a search to learn a little more about the founding of the home, it's history and it's demise. I had forgotten the home / school lost a large $ sexual abuse case and had to close, I think it was 2005.

    I will reply Thursday what I thought.

    WOW! I really enjoyed this movie - 4 stars!

    Makes me want to read the Jim Dent book again.

    A great deal of the film was shot on the old Masonic Home campus in south FW. One scene was shot at the old Masonic Temple in downtown FW. Movie was very accurate - underdogs overcoming adversity with gritty determination. Not just a football movie.

    I won't spoil it by commenting on various parts of the movie, but be sure to stay to the end to watch the first part of the credits and what the orphans went on to do in life.

    One comment for any of you around the DFW area. Morning personality Hal Jay is on WBAP - AM talk radio. Been on the station 40 years. Anyway, he has a bit part at the end of the movie doing a WBAP radio broadcast of the state championship game. You might recognize him but you will surely recognize his voice.

    I highly recommend this movie!:hookem::hookem:
