The wild cards in all this are the new NIL rules, which I think are the game-changer that motivated this move. I don't pretend to know all of its implications, but I have faith in CDC and the fact that we, as a university and alumni base, have more money than God. As a college football fan, I'm not crazy about it, but it is what it is. Keep in mind that we suffered 5 years this past decade without a real athletic director, but now we have one...
Well, the only team in the $EC with a winning record over us is Vanderbilt. So, if we can just get by them.
All I can think of is this coach we had in high school named Mrs. Massengil. Every year, during the annual faculty volleyball game, every time she struck the ball the entire student body would yell... "DOUCHE!!"
2025 huh...? Maybe, we'll later bump that up to 2022 or at least 2023... I've read that we've got the Big 12 early buyout $ (either ready or readily raised).
The new female Prez of OSU, in railing on the proposed move by OU and UT, complained, calling the actions "strategic" and "deliberate" to support her belief the move is illegal and unethical. Pure genius there. I rest my case against her without a word.
Supposedly the Longhorn Network will become the SEC West Network and be headquartered in Austin. Aggy head explosion in 3…2…1…
nu started this whole mess just because of pettiness. aggy was going to leave at some point anyway to get out of the shadow of big brother. Nobody really cares about cu or mizzou. Those 4 are the ones everybody should be upset with because if the big 12 was still in it's 2010 form, they might now be the one's adding other big time programs. Even so, the big 12 had 10 years to lure some big time programs and didn't get it done. The NIL decision is another huge driver to conference realignment and will change college athletics forever. I would rather things be as it was 2010 again but no going back now. The sec is the best move to make at this point.
So we've gone from "Winning is hard" to THIS!!! (whether real or not--probably not--gotta like the mindset!)
