Those have always been there. They are there on all college football fields, pro football fields and most high school fields. They are nothing new.
Well I’ll be darn. Went back and looked and you’re absolutely correct TexEx. Very embarrassed I never noticed before! Goes to show.
It's now obvious the stadium won't be finished on time, by the end of July. Luckily, there's another month before the season starts.
I look at the webcam pretty regularly, but anyone know of any overhead drone pics of the SEZ, or maybe side pics? The front view doesn't really show the scale of the construction for me.
We were there for the state track meet. (They let the runners warm up on the DKR turf) To me it all looks pretty sharp.
I attended the Orange-White game there in April. It's pretty impressive. It's got to be one of the top stadiums in the country.
I hadn't realized most of the SEZ would be chair back seats until this week when they started getting installed. So clearly, the band's not going in the SEZ. Anyone know where they'll be? My guess is near one of the goal lines on the east side.
From SEZ renderings, I was under the impression that two smaller video boards would be on either side of the large video board, each providing game stats, scores, etc. and would be used for messaging to rev up the crowd like the ribbon boards do. Perhaps that is the ultimate plan but time has run out. I was outside the stadium a week and a half ago and it is nowhere close to being finished. The webcam only shows a small fraction of the overall picture.
The plan was to have the SEZ finished by the end of July. Now in the last week of August, the best we can hope for is "good enough" by kickoff. They have ten days.
The delay in finishing is attributable to unexpected rain and the spike in the cost of lumber or maybe because nothing ever gets done on time or on budget
