Now I know why Hornfans has Lowe's and NOT home-depot as a sponsor.

I went to Home Depot looking for some UT paint colors and the salesmen told me... we don't do UT as a set because all the higher-ups are Aggies and won't sell UT colors.

    WHAT??????

c'mon. that must have been that one store. home depot's corporate color is orange. it's not burnt orange, but the aggy complain about bright orange gatorade coolers at their game.

I prefer to call it the "Attitude Depot" and yes, they suck. I prefer Lowe's much more.

    It's true.

My guess is that it's because UT didn't agree to the licensing terms rather than aggy management. Just get a can of Behr in the color you want instead.

I can personally attest to Lowe's having the Texas Burnt orange codes, my garage is happy with it

    Seriously...

Every other Big XII team represented but UT. That's not an accident. Not saying we should boycott... but dude. That's pretty lame when one of their own associates says its because....

    All the higher-ups are aggies...

Since, the paint manufacturer is Glidden, perhaps the issue is with them, not Home Depot...

My guess is that Texas didn't want to license the colors. And why not? f**k them. We're Texas.

I'm sure it has nothing to do with Aggy.

that is bs. USC and UCLA aren't on there either.

    it is licensing.

    Pffft...

Just take a burnt orange T-shirt in and have them scan the color with their little color match machine. Voila, burnt orange paint.

    You're welcome.

    Relooked at the website...

Its UT, Michigan State, UCLA, & USC are the only major schools I see not on their.

Would that REALLY be a licensing issue? Come on... We'd REALLY be only one of 4 schools in hundreds that can't come to terms with licensing??? Really??

Home Depot is based in Atlanta. Glidden Paint is based in Cleveland.

maybe it is this guy who is responsible for it?

Why is the UT braintrust so stingy when all others aren't? Please explain... are we really only 4 of 100 schools. I understand we are picky about other licensing ventures, too.

WHY??? When everyone else doesn't seem to have these issues.

probably because texas is by far the highest revenue generating school for licensing. they can be picky. although i do agree, home depot does indeed suck. i have a lowes that's about 8 miles away and a home depot that's 4 miles away. i usually just go to the HD but i prefer lowes greatly.

Texas Student Television can't use University of Texas licenses. We wanted to name a show with Longhorn in the title and we were shot down in a hurry.

Lowe's employees are more helpful and the store seems to have a little better quality stuff. Plus they have UT key blanks to make duplicate house keys. Beat that, Home Depot.

    Needed burnt orange paint...

Went to home depot, with the color info from UT website, was told can't customize the color and most people use "pumpkin spice" for burnt orange. Left home deopt.

Went to Lowe's, asked for burnt orange they said sure it's saved right here on our computer. Bought a gallon. Garage looks great.

    I shop at lowe's whenever I can.
