We should be unranked after the horrible performance tonight. No remaining game in the schedule is considered a guaranteed win. It’s every game at a time and I’m reserving judgment on Sark until I see more. Make no mistake, he and his staff were totally out coached today. I guess this Fred Akers curse will continue to haunt this team.

I’m hoping Casey is the starter for that game and miraculously plays with holy fire behind his eyes, knowing his dad played for OU…based on tonight only such a miracle will get us a “W” in Dallas.

If Casey is not named the starter for next week we will have learned something very troubling about Sark

We needed someone with legs tonight to take some pressure off Robinson. But when you give up 309 on the ground nothing else matters. Not a single snap means squat when you give up 309. Once again we can't handle a mobile QB. I was there in 81. This was the same, just the 81 team had more talent.

The lines got their asses handed to them tonight. Not a big surprise for offensive line but not expected for the d line at all. Flood and bo Davis better coach their asses off this week.

This is exactly why I posted several time how I refused to get excited before the season because we've heard the same crap every year, year after year.

Turns out it's harder to be head coach than it is offensive coordinator loaded with 5 stars at every position.

I'm not "giving up" yet, but I'll tell ya what I saw tonight was really, really bad.

It's on Sark that he failed to recognize that his O-line was not going to overcome their deficiences. If Card is a pocket passer then it was obvious in the 2nd quarter that the change should have been made.

ONCE AGAIN, Texas players were overwhelmed by the opponents hatred of them. The intensity of the Hogs was no surprise. Our players were not prepared for it. This seems to happen quite a bit. At least that's how I see it.

Card was terribly inaccurate. He missed on possibly three TD passes. I wonder why he was chosen as the starter. I thought Sark was an offensive guru. I guess it's time to break out the old excuse:

    He's stuck with Herman's players.

We may not be Alabama like Sark is used to, but the gap between us and Arkansas was not in talent or any sort of innate athleticism.

Hard to tell just after one tough game.

As a coach, the worst QB you can ever have is the one who looks great in practice, and terrible during the game. They will tell themselves that if they just plan for this and that, then the QB they see M-F will be the one that's on the field on Saturday.

QB is the most important position in football, and anymore you can't win without a good one (see Texas 2010 - 2016). And it takes actual games to determine if the one you see in practice is the one you see on he field. With Sam and Colt it was. Card is to be determined.

I've said this many times and I'll repeat it once more. I give every new head coach one year that they can mess up or maybe win it all. That's due to them having a bunch of guys that have to learn new systems and philosophies. After that, I expect improvement every year. Going backward after year 1 is not acceptable. So, with Sark, I give him a pass this year, I hope to see improved play the rest of the year, but if he messes up, I won't count it against him. I hope we never see another lack of effort, general confusion, and being pushed around like rag dolls as what happened against Arkansas today. There are 10 games remaining, and I hope there is significant improvement each game. If not, it must be seen next year. And if next year is as bad, or worse, then I get vocal.

Casey was not accurate on the deep pass either.
I am not saying Casey should not be QB against the war owls.

Until our talent level is improved along the LOS.....OL & DL (that will take at least 2 recruiting cycles) any vast improvement isnt coming............now its on Sark to figure out how to win when you dont have Alabama level talent on the field.

Yep that was what I texted a friend last night almost word for word. Texas laid an egg and got embarrassed but there are 10 plus games left to define this season.

If Casey doesn't start against Rice I hope he enters the portal Sat. night. That's what Sark would deserve. At least he can see his OL sucks and knows he has to get out of the pocket and throw on the run or run it before it's too late.

He moved the ball down the field on every series he played and made a really tough ballsy run for a TD after the OL got pushed backward for 3 downs and Sark still kept trying to run up the middle.:idk:

The Chicken Little in me sees this: An offensive line that can't run block or pass protect; a defense that can't stop a clock; and a QB who is nowhere near ready to play for a D-1 power 5 football team.
The Pollyanna in me says it's one game and we can learn from it and go on to have a good season.
Chicken Little is winning the argument.

Look what Fred Akers did his first year with a bunch who got run over the year before.
We have good coaches and some good players. We will be better as the season progresses and much better next year

    patience

Arkansas looked like fish bait against Rice. Somewhat better this week

our baby QB has the equipment to excel and will at some point

Unitas got cut by Pittsburgh as a rookie. A few years later……..

    Card’s time will come

Question I have is now much better did Casey look because Arkansas had the game in hand? They could give up some here and there as long as he didn’t drop a bomb at that point. Makes sense to me as well to have put him in earlier.

Crazy how poor Card’s long ball accuracy was.

The ugliest part was in the second half, we knew they were going to run every play and couldn’t stop them.
