Ok, so I admit there were 3 regular season games I wasn't happy with our coaching. But 3 tournament games have more than made up for it. There were some idiot announcers that thought Maryland would hang 100 on us. I wasn't confident in our ability to pull the upset, but I knew they weren't going to hang 100 on us. What a phenomenal job in their first year. Please don't go anywhere Johnnie Harris, Dionnah and Elena! If you can get to San Antonio Tuesday night, you need to and show your appreciation in person. I can't wait for us to pack Moody for this fun brand of basketball!
This brand of basketball, the fan engagement that the Coach Vic, his staff, and players have shown... That WILL put butts in the seats. In fact, I've already seen posters on this board that I've never seen. The fan base is already being expanded virtually.
When I was at UT the ladies WERE the basketball draw. I remember Erwin being packed to the rafters when Jody's team was playing, then when Penders came the men started closing the gap and both teams could draw. Vic has the women heading in the right direction, and here's to CDC bringing in a men's coach who can do the same!
Getting Vic and his staff in Austin was beyond my wildest dreams. What they’ve done in their first year in the middle of a pandemic feels miraculous to me. Vic knows very well what he has here in this Texas program and I have no doubt he will maximize the results. Looking forward to the athletes he brings to the 40 acres for years to come. I was set to buy season tickets for the first time ever when the pandemic hit. I knew even his first season would be great, but damn, he surpassed my optimistic imagination. In Vic I Trust!
Good Job Coaching Staff and Team. I almost feel like I am dreaming. I knew we would be pretty decent with Vic. But my God what a Outstanding Coaching Job. I will drive from Dallas to the games next year. Hookem'
5'5" Morgan William? Only if she was standing on the New York City phone book. She had to look up at Brooke McCarty.
DINO....I too will drive from the Metromess next year to watch them play. When Moody opens, Schaefer will have his second year of recruits in place (this last year was a late transition)....and the arena should be rocking. This year was a miraculous start and established a floor, next year will see an ascension with a targeted potential final four, and first year in Moody we will be ready to challenge the existing top programs for a seat at the table. Did I say....I AM EXCITED!
What an excellent year, what an excellent team, and what an excellent staff...”Above and beyond” for sure... FYI-We will not be playing in Moody until the 2022-2023 Season...
Yet another smart relationship building move by Vic. Key is a well known figure in girls HS basketball.
Vic quoted extensively in the article about WBB coaches reacting to the Kaplan report released today.
Great idea from Vic & Co. to share photos of Vic with the student-athletes on the first day of school. I love the positive message that these Tweets convey about TxWBB.
Good stuff. Just glancing at the photos.....lots of misinformation out there on heights. Or optical illusions.
There is a lot of "love" and "team" in Coach Vic's style and if this is real, not staged, it will pay off in many ways. No matter how tough you are, if you care about the individual and respect them, they will respond.
