Princeton won the first 4 National Championships; and they definitely haven't won another since 1940. I dunno what their line was like, but based on how football used to be played, I can only surmise that their line was dominant. Apparently, back then gymnastics was the major sport, with baseball 2nd, and this new sport of football less important. Here's a few of their players:
Meet George Billmeyer
Position: "Captain of the Enemy's Goal"
Meet the giant--Jacob "Big Mike" Michael
6'0" 215 lbs
Meet William "Tar Heel" Glenn
Former Confederate soldier who later "showed serious symptoms of mental derangement." After his Princeton football days, he became a lawyer back in North Carolina.
Meet John Green "Colonel" Wier
Another "beefy Southerner." He looked suspiciously much older than the other players. Was married with 6 children.
