Will we suffer 11 AM three weeks in a row?

    WorsterMan SEC here we come!!

I have suspected the Horns would get an 11 am kick for the toads.

Still fallout for loss to the lowly hawgs....

I sure hope not. That is in Ft Worth, so if true I hope the team is up to that challenge.

Many years ago when I was too young to drink alcoholic beverages but got into a honky tonk on Jacksboro Highway because my friend was in a country music band (he was too young too) I found out why not to hangout on jacksboro highway.
The place was of such high standing that almost half of the parking lot was paved. The rest of it was sand and gravel.
The crowd was rough, crude, drinking deep and fast . They began throwing stuff on the stage. Not beer bottles, but stuff. They eventually got too drunk to care about the band and gave their attentions to the "ladies" in the crowd.

I couldn't wait for the evening to end so I could get the hell out alive.:beertoast: :idk:

My wife and I are bringing two other couples to cowtown for the game. We'll show them the Stockyards and a Friday night at Billy Bob's but we won't wander over to my neck of the woods on Jacksboro and River Oaks Blvd.... wonder if the 8-Ball Billiard Club and Inez 50/50 Club are still around.

Brings back memories of (I think it was called) "The Cellar". I was 18, as were my pledge brothers, and had no trouble being served alcohol or offered "favors" by the female employees. Doors flew open, cops everywhere. We were told we had 30 seconds to get out the door or go to jail, and no, we would not be in same cell with the girls. Not sure how, but I think we were on I-35 headed north to Oklahoma in about 90 seconds. (One of our PBs was from Ada, where we met the police about 3 AM.) Not one of our better nights.

I'd take 3am if it meant a W. I'm just sick and tired of Texas finding every way possible to blow games against cockroaches.

I remember the Inez 50/50. Also remember joint called "Big Mama's Lounge" on Jacksboro Hwy. I was too young to go there and would not have even if I was old enough to drink. It was a rough looking place and we thought the name was funny. When I became of age I knew better than to go to bars in that area....

I remember The Cellar - it was raided many times while I was growing up in FW. The word was out that was NOT the place to go as it got raided by the police often and you could end up in jail even though you didn't do anything wrong...

Since TCU joined the B12 in 2012, the frogs have a 7-2 record against us. One of our wins was in Austin and one in Fort Worth. Patterson has had our number almost every year. I hope Sark and Co. can turn this around starting with the trip to FW in a couple of weeks.

OU is going to be jealous. We're occupying their coveted 11AM kick time.

Patterson has boldly proclaimed the reason he gets to keep his job is because he beats Texas. So the loss to SMU means nothing. He has probably been game-planning for Texas all year.

Unless the Frogs can magically fix that run defense I cant see then slowing this offense down..............but then again Patterson Im sure will have some new wrinkle on Defense so Sark and Off. coaching staff be prepared!

I grew up on the east fringes of Tarrant County, but we did our underage drinking at the Sportatorium and Good Luck Drive-in in Dallas.

With an occasional foray to the Northside Coliseum in Fort Worth for roller derby, of course. They’d serve anyone tall enough to put the money on the counter.

SMU had 600 yards of O vs. Frogs. 350 of them were yards rushing. TCU had a lof penalties....

Patterson will prepare 'em well, TCU will rise up and meet the challenge and play inspied, Max Duggan will play his best game of the season.

However, what I have seen of frog D so far this season makes me believe they are vulnerable and not as good as the last couple of years.

If Horns play like they did on O the whole game & D plays like first half of tech, Horns will roll the toads.

Early line today shows Texas -6 with an over/under of 66.5

For those who follow such things...for entertainment purposes only...unless in a jurisdiction where they become more than just entertainment...but for this site, it can be educational in guessing the score.

66.5 is an interesting number since it has been decades since the total was that high. Think I'd wait and play the second half number.

College games have been seeing Over/Under totals in that range and higher for several years. Most of the time, they are the various revenue bowls, but there were at least a dozen north of 60 this past week on the D1 sheet, with more than a half-dozen higher than our opening Over/Under line for the game. Remember, those are combined points...

OleMiss/Alabama is actually opened at 77.5, with Alabama STILL a 16.5 point favorite.

What is RARE these days is seeing a pro total UNDER 50...and there were a couple under 40 this past week although they were bet back up to just over 40 (NYJ/DEN and CAR/HOU, 41 and 43 respectively).
