Casey was effective in the Louisiana game as well. I would argue that Casey has performed well in 5 straight games.

Blocking punts and kicks is another good indicator. If we had that capability last year, we could have been in a NY6 bowl.

The Tech win was nice, and showed that Texas can move the ball and put up points.

But as others have said, the TCU game is a key measure. I think He-man was 1-3 against TCU, so a win (especially a good dominating win) would be a measure of difference compared to him. His record against Tech was 3-1, so it's hardly like beating TT is a change of orbit.

Next two weeks will the be key to the season:

0-2 - poor season, with little difference compared to Herman's years.

1-1 - better, but still second tier, and needing a change of results to win the B12, much less a NC

2-0 - excellent, and a sign that Texas is on the move up.

We shall see - next 13 days are the most important this year for Texas football.

I'm not worried about the frogs. Well not much. They will indeed have intensity and they are going to try to punch us in the mouth early but if we get through that even then we will pull ahead in the second half. They have a 5 star running back who has been running well. Forgot his name. I see us covering the spread winning by 2 touchdowns.

Plus the refs are going to be unfriendly to us, even more so than usual.

I have said several times that, at some point, we have to find out if, when the lights come on, Casey is "that guy" that we saw in the Alamo Bowl or not. It sure looks like he is and his TD production backs that up.

TCU gave up 350 yards rushing to SMU last Saturday. I'm willing to bet we're going to very happy this upcoming Saturday as well.

Texas was unprepared to play at night in Fayettenam. I think the Frogs will be harder than Tech but I definitely see us winning the next 2.
Patterson will stack the box, play man and dare us to throw. Considering the way the Texas line has pass blocked, that could be a tough day for them....

TCU has been the thorn in our side since joining the conference. It wouldn't surprise me if we had some crappy mistakes that cost the game, but knowing that their defense isn't anywhere near where it has been, I think we pull this one out.

I'm concerned that our defense hasn't been learning from mistakes as well as I thought they would through 4 games, so I definitely think Duggan puts up some numbers.

I'm not surprised by 3-1, but I was expecting Louisiana to be better and Arkansas to be worse.

I can see our fast play causing them confusion and our offense looking like last week with not quite as many points

We're obviously not going to score TDs on 24/28ths of our possessions for the rest of the year, but it's not like we're gonna need to. The questions to me on offense are mostly just WR and OL. RB is obviously great, and QB, while the sample size is still small, is looking excellent so far.

We've only gone 1-3 once in recent years and that was with Strong. Herman never went 1-3 even when we had LSU and Oklahoma State in our first 4.
