Watched the LSU game last night.. Was it just me or did I see a lot of empty seats, even between the 20s?

Friend was at the game and he complained that a lot of fans left at halftime.

Clemson's drop off, most glaringly on offense, puzzles me. They've struck me as one of the 3-5 programs in the country that just re-load. This year they're having perplexes me but I don't follow them very closely other than the games I see.

Ha... i think we're talking about two different 'Death Valleys' in this thread. LSU and Clem. The wide spread use of the term to describe both venues always confused me.

Clemson should change its stadium's name to Tiger Stadium instead of calling it Death Valley. Then people would know which one it is.

Checked the web regarding Death Valley and yes, attendance seems to be sparse.

I thought Clemson called their stadium Death Valley before LSU. Also, Clemson has an actual rock from Death Valley at their stadium that the players touch before running onto the field.

Stupid article below, but does good job with the facts. Writer says LSU has the real Death Valley now because LSU was ranked no 1 when the article was written. What about the last 2 years, numb nuts?

The Real Death Valley: Sorry Clemson, This is LSU’s Name Now

Clemson’s Memorial Stadium has been called Death Valley since the 1940’s, so they definitely have the edge on when the name was started, but Louisiana State University has the advantage of living up to the name these days.
Clemson boasts plenty of success with a great home-field advantage, too. Their origin of Death Valley was solidified when Presbyterian College’s coach Lonnie McMillian called Memorial Stadium “Death Valley” in 1948, simply because he couldn’t win there. The name stuck and even led to Clemson coach Frank Howard being gifted a rock from the real Death Valley in California. This is now known as Howard’s Rock and is touched by every Clemson player before running down the hill before each home game in the East end zone of the stadium.

    mc,

Maybe they used the name first, but they weren't worth a ****; at least not until Charlie Pell arrived with one of the few assistant coaches to be banned by the NCAA. LSU has been good for a long long time
