I've been saying this for weeks and everyone disagreed. Now I'm seeing many saying he needs to go. Why the change of heart? It's the same defense just a different opponent.

I think he moved to Austin and believed he could plug in our talent into his system, but LB is arguably the most important position in his scheme. We have a hurt LB leader and some converted transfers and walk-ons. He should have made some simplifications but didn't.

Yes, his stubbornness with poor fits for his system should cost him his job.

We just gave up 57 points to KANSAS. Let that sink in for a few minutes.

Like I said earlier, too, against a down 2005 OU, we only mustered 45 points.

Agreed. We need a base 4-3. Focus on fundamentals. Setting the edge, tackling, and getting effective pressure. There should be plenty of D-Coordinators who can provide that.

I like Sark. I thought he would succeed here but he deserves to be fired for hiring Kwiatkowski.

Yes but some reason we didn't try very hard, in the first half especially. We had no energy or passion.

He was good in the Pac 12. Sark was mediocre in the Pac 12. That means they suck hard balls.

How many plays in the game did we not have multiple defenders OUT OF POSITION?

STAY THE f**k AT HOME AND DO YOU JOB OR HIT THE PORTAL!

The same little shits did it against OU, against oSu, against Baylor, against Iowa State, and now against Kansas. I'd put a group of 150 pound walkons out there if they would be where they belong before they get mashed.

As for Coach K, I suggest a history class studying the greatest college coach of all time in any sport - John Wooden. Adapt you plan to your talent, not your talent (or lack thereof) to your plan.

In 1986, we were so beatup, that we went to Lubbock with only two LBs to suitup, neither a starter & one of them a walkon. They played better that night than any LB has played for us all this year.

Yes, I just drove back from Austin by myself and am pissed!

Great text during the game from my 12 year old grandson, "Why can't Hudson Card read a defense"

I'm not sure Hudson can read bedtime stories. But Sark cost us that game by letting him play. Not moving up to avoid a fumble was bad, but the pick 6 is something only 1/1000 Middle School QB's would ever do.

Strong was given a blank check and mostly hired who he already had as assistants.

Herman was given a blank check and did basically the same thing.

Sark was given a blank check and he spent a kings ransom on hiring who he thought was "the best of the best from around the country" and we ended up with this shitshow. I mean we thought we hired an all star cast based off what we paid them. We made yet another bad head coaching hire and are stuck with it.

Sarkisian firing his assistants after year one spells doom for him.
I am not saying it’s the wrong thing to do, (cosch k deserves it!) but that Sarkisian blew it by making bad hires just like Herman and Strong did.
Inevitably the blame will end up where it belongs after we cycle through players and assistant coaches. On the head coach. Sark is an unmitigated disaster.
also blaming the players amounts to the same thing.
Sark needs to stop giving ******** lip service to “changing the culture” like every other fraud and nut the f**k up and find a way to win with the guys he has NOW.
This present day shite we are seeing IS HIS culture until it’s not.

Something has to change because this experiment didn't work. If they really believe its the players then I give them a pass this year if 40 players portal as long as its the right players. If a handful leave then there needs to be a huge decision on coaching. No way we are any better next year with the same set up.

What is happening with this team is historically bad on a monster scale.

I agree in the historically bad part. When has Texas ever been lower? It was bad when Charlie Strong lost to Kansas and got fired. But this is worse! Has it EVEr been this bad.

but if Sark starts firing assistants after year 1 I wished he would just resign instead.
were not 4-6 just because of coach k. Our offense has been **** half the year too!

When has the 3 man front defense ever worked for us? We haven’t had a good defense since Brown and even then it was getting shady.
Stupid simple mistakes cost us that game last night. I am tired of being out coached.
I think when we get beat by lesser talent that is because lesser talent can be coached.
I say next year will be our turning point. Most of the malcontents will be gone and we can see if recover from this crap embarrassment being put on the field.

    Really?
CT's fumbles and INT's (one in the end zone) had nothing to do with it?
We don't have a good, much less great, QB on the roster it seems.
Not to mention the entire defensive squad.

I just mentioned this on another thread --->>Don't forget two hurt transfers in Davis and Thornton that were brought in to help because they knew they were thin there. Probably could have helped this year.
Other than Demo, these other dudes look like Molasses

I'm with you, Moon, on almost all of this ^^^^..
But I dont really see what people are seeing so bad in the secondary...maybe question run support. I think they have been pretty decent and at times pretty good...***need to finish more plays but playing receivers tight and pretty good in coverage...in the right spots...ESPECIALLY in light of zero pass rush. I think the dline and LBs are putting them in a tough spot.
On a side, Im not sold on Schooler in coverage,.though he gave a great effort last night.

Agree, our QBs are not good. Our Oline is worse. Card has no pocket presence. You can’t just stand there. We don’t have the line for that. Casey was playing hurt. The thumb to his throwing hand is important. Playing through it though I applaud him for trying. We just don’t have the team to come back from four lost turnovers. Card hurt us more than he helped us. Our team is too predictable.

    Exactly.
He was throwing the ball in the dirt which is why Card was inserted.
However, Casey's fumble was pretty much same as Card's.
Blame it on holding the ball too long or the OL.
And Casey's INT in the endzone had nothing to do with his thumb.
He threw into double coverage with the game on the line and plenty of time left.
I quit watching at that point and don't even know how we got to overtime.
Not saying Card will ever be good.
But he doesn't shoulder all the blame for the loss.

Here’s an interesting stat for you. The 1983 Longhorn defense gave up 55 points….in the first 8 games combined. We gave up 57 to Kansas.

Good Gosh, these players have been playing football since the 7th grade. They should know how to tackle by now. The coach cant tackle for them. we cant keep changing coaches and schemes. We need to recruit the players to fit the scheme and that will take time. Changing coaches has not worked for 10 years.Must be something else.

That was not your normal bad Kansas team.
    They should have beat OU.
They have been close in most games.

If you score 49 in regulation against the worst team in the league, you should win.

Look at the 4th and 1 against OU where Caleb goes for 50-60 yds. How does a defense not lay a hand on that guy? Why are the LBs and safeties diving on the ground?

Texas leads the B12 in missed tackles which is totally unacceptable.

I see no reason for keeping a DC that rolls the same garbage out there every week - scheme and players.
