Next year we should have Stanford, Tennessee, Princeton, and an SEC opponent come to Austin. I think Vic is referring to the teams that are not home and away agreements do no want to come to Austin. New Orleans may think twice about returning to Austin? May see more home and away opponents or Holiday tournaments than in the past or Texas offers bigger payouts to D2 teams to come to Austin. Most schools can use the money for there women’s program.

I hope Stanford continues to be on our schedule. But, not sure when the recent series began, and for long it was agreed to be played.

Once we join the SEC, Tennessee and Texas A&M won't be options to play in non-conference. So, next season, Tennessee's trip to Austin will be the last as a non-conference game.

I would like to see us get an ACC team on our schedule and perhaps a Big 10 also, while keeping Stanford, Tennessee, and perhaps Princeton. Did I read here somewhere that eventually we're going to start a series with UConn?

We have a home and away series set with UCONN starting next year. The first year is played in Austin if I remember correctly.

I just noticed that our game at Tennessee this Sunday (ESPN) is at the same exact time as the Baylor @ Maryland game (BTN); so, will set my DVR to record both games.

Great for our program to get another game aired on ESPN.

Tomorrow’s game against Southeast Missouri is at 11 am. SE Missouri got beat by 25 by SFA on Monday. Thank you for agreeing to tackle Texas in Austin.

It's the "screaming kids" game for each year. Now, if I can find some ear plugs.......

Take a bottle of Advil, ear plugs and tunnel vision. For us Dallas folks, the remote mute button is the answer.

I’ve attended this game a couple of times and watched it on television a few - there’s no escaping.

ESPNW per Creme has Texas as a number 4 seed hosting in Austin second round of the Tournament. Sure is early. Four seed reflects Stanford win. Sure better than before.

Weren't we like a projected 9 seed prior to the Stanford outcome?

I'd say it demonstrates the click-baity nature of preseason "predictions" more than anything else.

Anyone have an injury update for Moore, Hunter, and King-Hawea?

It was amazing no one asked the injury question. By Schaefer not mentioning it, I am hopeful it is a non-issue and all will be available. Moore playing or not is a huge factor.

Agree. Moore had 9 points, 5 rebounds and played 30 mins against Stanford. I’d much prefer to have her available than not. Let’s hope she’s healthy.

Good media interview with Coach Harper. A few things I took away. Tennessee must not have shot BTA or free throws well this year, turnovers are a concern. They worked on ball movement in practice so that is good for us. She mentioned a lot of what they worked on can be tossed out the window against Texas. She is starting a freshman Brooklyn ? at guard (point?) so I like that in handling our pressure is tough on a point guard....much less a freshman. Horston is playing well but is making some mistakes. It’ll be fun to watch for some of these things.....to see if I read her comments correctly. Someone asked about playing against Harmon at the end but the video cut off. Would like to hear her comments on that. Harmon is getting a lot of accolades in the early year.

Looked at Tennessee box scores through 4 games. In last two games, they were 4-15 and 0-13 from BTA. Brooklyn Miles a freshman point guard has played 34 and 31 minutes and scored 0 and 2 points and assists are minimal. She’s 5’-4” and picks up full court. She leads the team in minutes played in these last two close games but doesn’t start. So she and Harmon will have a go at it.

Stumbled on the men's Villanova versus Tennessee hoops game Saturday afternoon on one of the ESPN channels. During a stoppage in play, they were noting our game at Tennessee on Sunday on ESPN. TV analyst Fran Fraschilla (I think) was very complimentary of what Vic is doing at Texas, and talked about what a great point guard Rori Harmon is, and how he compares her talent and impact to TJ Ford.

I'm trying to get into women's basketball and I did buy a season ticket. It is SO hard to get motivated to go to non-conference games against nothing teams. Why are we playing everyone good at their place or on neutral turf? I don't see a single top 25 team at home until we get to conference play:

    Stanford: PALO ALTO, CALIFORNIA
    Tennessee: KNOXVILLE, TENNESSEE
    Texas A&M COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS
    Arizona: COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS

Nobody wanted to come to Austin to play us. Vic tried but he kind of had to put some last minute teams in because no top team wanted to come here and play. That will change next season though

@Moooooo have you had a chance to watch the Baylor v Maryland game? If so, what are your thoughts about the game? How did Baylor look? I believe Maryland was missing two key players, Diamond Miller and Katie Benzan. If you watched the replay, I would enjoy getting your feedback about the game.

Somehow I managed to NOT record our game or the Baylor game. Could have sworn I set both to record; but, got nothing

I can usually find, at least, the highlights of most games on You Tube and often the entire game especially if it was broadcast by ESPN.
