Early in the season, Lincoln Riley posted a pick of his bbq brisket on Twitter. Everybody made fun of him and joked about how dry it was. That’s the brisket pic he posted.

OU flip Kobie McKinzie appears to be flipping back.
    Haven't seen anything official.

Ewers will be a nice addition to the QB room, no doubt. Let's see what happens on the field though.

I just can't get myself all worked up over any HS kid these days. Maybe I am just getting too old to care, maybe I am traumatized from all the "can't miss" classes that all seem to have missed over the last decade plus. All I know for sure is our skill players (whoever they may be) will look a lot better if the big uglies finally start panning out again.

    Definitely not a given.

But if we didn't hope or care we probably wouldn't still be clicking on this particular forum. Lol

After seeing him in some of the pics and Tik Tok videos I am not impressed.
He may be an awesome athlete and I have to remind myself that he should be playing in the high school playoffs.
He just doesn't radiate maturity and on field presence to me.
I think Malik puts out a better vibe.
But this is pure emotional feel.
    We shall see.

Ironically the thing that the coaches and scouts rave about is indeed his " on field presence" as well as his on field awareness (check downs, when to throw the ball away, when to bail the pocket). He can walk in and be the starter day one. As far as his maturity issues. I don't see any. He was just the first to see this new system and used it. Has never had any hints of behaviour issues. He never trolled us etc...
Murphy is rough around the edges and will take some work. How long it will take has been debated. He has played in a lower classification but has unquestioned potential.
I'm glad we have Murphy and putting out the full court press on Ewers.

There is another difference between Murphy and Ewers. Murphy has been committed for months now and the recruiting momentum has waned. Ewers if he commits will hopefully help supercharge the 22 class and help us close with some big name OL and wideouts.

Rumor mill is on overdrive in regards to.

S Jacoby Mathews (Ponchatoula, LA), S Bryce Anderson (Beaumont West Brook) and CB Terrance Brooks (Little Elm).

The best comparison for Ewers I can think of from our past would be Chris Simms. Remember he showed up in a limo. But people were tell him he was a can’t miss pro prospect and they were right. Ewers has a similar arm, but has a more competitive proven HS track record than Simms. If X Worthy is healthy, and Ewers throwing to him, it’s going to look like CD Lamb loose in the secondary.

Difference is Murphy is a 7 on 7 Champion. Ewers has done it versus Texas 6A talent. Murphy = Measurables. Ewers = Experience.

It's just an early impression from very little exposure I have seen.
Just comes across as kind of a goofy kid.
    I could be totally wrong.

I assume that if we do get Ewers, he will not count in this year's class rankings.

Kind of what I was getting at.
Admittedly, I have very little to go on when it comes to Ewers.
But I like the confidence and leadership that Malik projects.

I like everything about Murphy: Energy, size, attitude, confidence, arm strength commitment. We’ll see but I really like the young man. He seems to exude quiet confidence.

cnb, with Banks in the fold, and Campbell and Agbo seeming to be trending in our direction, how many more do we want/can we take?

I’m not sure. It would definitely help our team ranking and I wouldn't be upset about it.

Cameron Williams — This is a good pickup for our OL. S&C and nutrition will be the key to getting him to optimal performance. He’s very, very big, and he moves well for his size. But it looks like he’s carrying quite a bit of the wrong kind of weight.
