I remember several on this forum that wanted to pay this clown 10 million a year. His tenure in Jacksonville was so bad I doubt he ever coaches again.

Urban Meyer is still a great college coach until proven otherwise. All we know is he can’t coach Pro. Apparently the Pro players are more coddled than the College kids as he was fined for excessive contact during OTA’s.
Meanwhile we couldn’t win 6 games.

Yes, certainly it was completely and totally unreasonable to want to see someone who had been a proven winner at the college level come to Texas and hopefully have immediate success.

How absurd of several of us.

This move was not surprising and just a matter of time. Just not a nice guy to work for or with.

And then some care about who is the face of UT football.
For some reason I don't want a lying sack of **** to represent Texas, win or lose.

This is why Jacksonville will continue to wander in the NFL wilderness. They hire a proven winner and then whine when he tries to change the culture. They’ll go with a loser (Charlie Strong?) who’ll cuddle the players and keep on losing. Luckily they get to play the Texans regularly.

Maybe, but first, he will probably first have to either settle with the kicker he kicked or stand trial for assault.

Yes. As I said during that courtship, we all thought he was a lying sack, but then I said we think that of every head coach who is not the head coach at Texas. I was giving benefit of the doubt, and that shows how bad it had gotten with The Pit and Binder Boy.

He's too good at the college level and not quite sleazy enough to be outcast.

Yep. And with NIL afoot, Urban will be back in CFB. Just a matter of time.

I reckon his health is the reason once again.
Meaning his wife wielding a cast iron skillet in one hand and that Twitter feed in the other.

OUBubba- please scroll by, I like you and I’m going to be inappropriate.

Sooner is banging their heads right now.
He’s perfect for the lawlessness that historically occurs in Norman.

I did call this one….. I DID NOT want UM.
There is a great fact based podcast regarding that TE that killed people, I’m drawing a blank here… anyway UM sold his soul to keep protecting that kid- just so he could play. I don’t feel he gave a rats a about the kid who he knew was headed down a bad path.

LOL. That's a nice write-up. But "flirting" is a very generous term for what UM did in that bar.

I can still see myself talking up John Blake and his "bringing back the wishbone". So, faith in our teams is universal. This moose knuckler will find a home. It may take a year.

And I said in a Sooner forum this guy belongs at UT, Aggy, or LSU. Ole Miss will make him a millionaire again after Kiffin moves on.

I can see why a board with a burnt orange background would associate him with a school with a history like OU. :)

I would drop Sark and take Urban in a heartbeat.

There have been scores of highly successful college coaches that flamed out in the NFL, so this isn't totally shocking or unexpected to me (although I am surprised it was only one year).

Urban knows how to win in the NCAA at the highest levels and has proven that repeatedly; Sark is a calculated gamble (and I like what I see), but still an unknown commodity.

I will trade unknown for known any day.
