Omg, that was grueling. Fantastic game for Latasha, Shay, Audrey and Joanne. But, I tell what, I agree with Bobcat...we're not going far without some more offense.

A win is a win and I’ll take it! Some good play down the stretch. Hopefully that win is what we needed to bring us back to where we were.

sidenote: did anyone see what happened as to why Vic was upset in the end? Did it have something to do with the Tech head coach?

The announcer speculated it had to do with the last game. But just guess.

There was an exchange, then it looks like he pointed to a different tech staffer and said “that’s your staff…********” then it looked like he heard some sort of response and lost it.

I think Vic shook their hands quick and didn’t stop to acknowledge anyone and that upset a staff member. Probably just carry over from last game.

The Assistant Coach of Tech did not shake Vic’s hand. (She dropped her hand as Vic went to shake it.) He didn’t appreciate it and told her about it while he was walking off the court.

lol good we don’t like them so get the win and get out of there. Tech won’t make the tournament so we’ll see y’all next year or in the big 12 tournament. I now hate Tech with a passion. I mean I’ve always hated Tech but for other sports and I now strongly dislike their head coach and staff. I said it last time but they are my new Baylor type hate team in the big 12

Vic was angry at the Tech assistant couch (female). He was explaining what happened to the other Tech assistants. It looked like he was angry at them but he was actually angry at the female assistant coach.

Not sure we should bless Tech with any non-conference games after the move to the SEC. They can eat rocks

I’m glad we won, but man if we keep playing this way we are not finishing above .500 in the B12 and will garner an 8/9 seed in the tourney. That to me is a disappointing year considering the amount of talent we have, young or not.

I really liked that he played Latasha so many minutes and didn’t pull her when she made a couple bone-headed mistakes.

    also, where was Aaliyah Moore?

Craig Way talked about this on his radio show this morning. Tech turned in the wrong lineup to begin the second half. The scorer's table crew pointed it out to the officials. As they were discussing it, someone on the Tech staff started in on the staff at the scorer's table. Vic didn't appreciate it and said he wouldn't allow the staff to be treated that way, and it escalated from there. According to Vic, a report by the conference supported his version of events. Then when Tech coach was asked about it later, she said it was just sour grapes from Texas. That's probably what still irks him--but I'm guessing about that part. So glad to get the win tonight.

I’m with everyone on wanting Matharu in the game…..ALL THE TIME. She has some special skills no one else has. However, watching the games within the game, Matharu has some serious flaws. The biggest one is that she seems to have a problem with silly, unnecessary fouls…..almost every game. Also she plays risky defense that sometimes leads directly to a score. Like trying for a steal and that led to a direct basket by Tech. Schaefer likes great fundamentals in defense and sometimes doesn’t get it from her. We all wish she could get a handle on the issues that keep her on the bench. In the first game, she and most all the players couldn’t stop fouling and it was a parade of free throws. Go look at the box score from first game. I’m sure that was a point of emphasis for tonight’s game. If Texas is to reach its potential, Matharu holds the keys.

Tech and Baylor have always been the two I dislike the most... always! I've got more love for the Aggies and OU than I do for them.

Matharu got two fouls in 52 seconds. At that pace she barely lasts 2:20. I remember early in Ariel Atkins career it was always a problem early in the game to keep her off the bench because of fouls. She learned from it. Hopefully Matharu gets it together because it’s a shame not being able to depend on her on offense. She’s a Jr and should already have that in check.

It’s a road win in conference play which is not always easy or pretty

I'm having a real tough time understanding player minutes from one game to the next. Kyndall Hunter is one of the few players Vic praised after Sunday's loss to Baylor; but, tonight against Tech, zero minutes of play?

After tonight's win, Vic praises Latasha Lattimore. Guess that means we won't see her on the court Saturday against OU . . . o_O

Baylor’s length really impacted us. As did the first Tech game. Lattimore can help in games where length can impact it. She looked like she belonged tonight. After 3 straight losses, you have to try something different. I imagine Lattimore earned more playing time tonight. As did Holle.

Tech’s fans and Tech’s women’s basketball coaches are classless.
If I were an assistant coach I’d be real careful about burning a bridge with a coach as connected and respected as Vic.

My gut tells me Matharu is eating up too much of the offensive oxygen and not in a good way… preventing the offensive shots Vic wants to see. “Trying too hard to be the hero.” That’s strictly a guess on my part.

Areas that worked in our favor tonight were free throw shooting (12-13) and limiting our turnovers (14). We've had problems in both areas recently; so, definitely good to see those stats as we probably don't win this game without performing well, especially at the free throw line.

That may well be true, but, my goodness, there are some games we would have lost if she hadn't taken her shots. It looked like it was going to go that way tonight.
