What? No interest in this game. I’ve read ALL the Iowa State comments and I guess we all like to post on a great win. But Sunday at 11 am Horns play another game. Horns should win but I see where just 2 weeks ago WV took OU to double OT. Hope there is no let down. We’ll be at church but ya’ll can pull the Horns through.

Well, certainly not as intense as were the OU, Baylor and ISU games. WVU is 4-9 in conference and doesn't generate the same enthusiasm as the first three. Having said that, and to your point, yes we need to take them seriously. We need to win out. Looking at the standings though, we are down two in the loss column to these teams and we don't have any more games with them. What we need to do is continue playing like the last few games and head into the B-12 tournament on a roll.

This is an important game from a psychological perspective. This will be a test to see if we can be consistent with our toughness and intensity level even when we are playing a team that is not one of the conference leaders. This will be a test to see if our players have truly bought in to what the coaching staff is teaching.

Hopefully the losses we suffered to Texas Tech and Kansas along with that game in Norman to OU have taught us to be ready every night. We'll see... Sometimes it takes immature teams a while to catch on to the need for consistent focus and intensity... The need to get up and be ready every game and not just the "big" games.

    Let's go! :hookem2:

I am hoping for continued offensive output that creates enough of a cushion so Moore, Lattimore, and Hunter see increased minutes.

Winning any B12 game on a road is tough, but it's especially tough in Morgantown because of all the crazy drivers.

And, flash, I'm not seeing any TV listed for it so being in church won't matter. You can follow the game tracker on your phone, unless your church has airplane mode rules.:smile1:

It’s listed here in civilization (kinda), on ESPN2. Your note sent me into emergency panic mode. Hopefully, the DallasMNews and texassports.com are correct. That’ll keep me on focus during the sermon. And I need the sermon! Desperately.

Vic’s pregame press conference. Lots of good nuggets in here about playing time.

Schaefer’s thoughts are always so interesting. “……better put butts in their guts” ….or something like that regarding rebounding against WV is another great line. He now has his daughter and Holle as examples of how to get in the game. I found it really insightful that Holle would jump on the practice men’s team rather than watching. He’s right…..I don’t know many girls….or guys…..that would do that. Holle still has lots of improvements as she will find a bad matchup down the road. A sophomore with little playing time will experience that……but she appears to have what it takes to get past that. He also realizes he has to do a better job putting fans in the seats. A new arena will help. Better team will help. I don’t have any answers for him or CDC on getting the students/fans out.

I agree with your points about Holle. The more I hear about her the more respect I have for her. She is always the example when Vic is asked about working your way into the lineup. In an earlier post it was mentioned that Donarski had zero points. I went back and watched some of the game again. Holle was one of several who guarded Donarski during the evening. Also, when Vic was asked why he thinks she stayed, he said primarily that it was because he wanted her to stay, she's a "program" person, and they had a plan. Davis also asked about current players at the end of the bench, specifically Kobe, Femme, and Kyndall. Vic responded that Kobe was hurt, and then started talking about players needing to put in the work. Hmmm....

Schaefer is a big proponent of hard work and putting in the time…..especially on shooting. It was interesting to hear him say that going into the gym alone at 9 pm to shoot was good. But it was better to ask a coach to let them in and participate. It makes sense that having a coach to watch and instruct on fundamentals, rebound, etc. is more effective use of time. It is tough being an assistant coach. I’m sure Schaefer does it too, but most of that falls on the assistants. Remembering the tens of thousands of shots I rebounded with my daughters …..just tires me out now. As they got older, she would have to MAKE 500 shots per shooting practice in the gym with me. I guess I was younger.

Don't show that! Their facial expressions show happiness, and now our resident worry-warts won't have anything to fret and whine about. Or maybe they will just fret and whine about any of the ladies not in the photos. Why weren't they there? Does their absence mean a transfer is coming? Vic ought to give them more minutes so they can smile too etc., etc., ad nauseum.

Okay, I'm just going to say it: we look really out of sorts and very tentative, and now we have Ebo fouling her way out of the game before the middle of the second period. This is not good, not good at all.

Poop rate me all you want, but I stand by my earlier comment that this has not been our usual crisp playing. Look absolutely spastic at times dribbling to the bucket. Missing bunnies. Passing is not crisp. As I comment, WVU is on a 7-0 run. The gals need to pick it up or they are going to leave West Virginia disappointed.

Third Qtr almost over what’s the turnover situation
Can always count on your negative post way before halftime so the poop is for your consistency. If texas loses you can rejoice in saying I told you so

Nothing I reported was untruthful. If you consider it negative, that is on you. Plenty of folks on this board give a running commentary. That is all I was doing. Sorry if it doesn't sit right with you. Beware the first time you post something I deem negative.:catfight:

Seriously I’ve never commented on anyone’s rating of my posts, but you do you and I’ll look forward to you running off at the mouth instead of just rating my post un-likable. OR maybe growing a thicker skin about some stranger not liking your post(s).

Horns win! We needed this one. Unfortunately, AT*T Uverse listed the game on ESPNU and I have softball recorded. Saw the last two minutes. I hope ESPN+ will have a replay.

Boring game, but sometimes boring is good. Handled business on the road against an inferior team. After hearing the practice and travel schedule they had for this one I’m glad they got a win.
Ps…I wish so had a dollar for every announcer who at some point in the game mentions JAT wanting to build a car. I would be a millionaire myself. Lol

*Gotta love that 19 for 22 from the free-throw line. That wins road games.
*Turnovers were good until late in the game where we made a few.
*Overall TOs not bad though against an aggressive defense like WVU's.
*Glad to get out of there with the "W."
*Nice to see that Rori is realizing this is her team to lead.

Harmon has really improved over the season. She really took control of the game. Had a couple of TOs late that were probably due to fatigue or her numbers would have been even better.

We won it at the line. We were 19-22 and they were 9-14. Thrilling to see that stat considering some of our last games where that was a huge liability.

I thought we looked confident and stayed patient against a very physical team who thought they would get us in foul trouble. Losing Ebo could have been a crushing blow… it wasn’t.

    Usual crisp playing??

I don't see very many "pretty" games, especially on a road in the B12. I'll be happy to get an ugly win on a road, in the B12, every damn time.

Okay, is the term crisp no longer used to describe fast and accurate playing or is it passe? I definitely wasn't describing "pretty". (And I'm damned happy to get a win in the B12, road or otherwise, EVERY DAMN TIME!)

Liatris, it was immediately following the game on ESPN. Don't know if a clip exists.
