Report: Power Five school attempts to poach Texas WR Xavier Worthy

We’ll never know if he was close to considering. I’m hearing USC and Oregon both had significant offers on the table. The current transfer rules and NIL make every single player a target. We won the battle with Ewers and Neyor but at some point we will likely lose someone that really hurts.

This is crazy. At some point the P5 schools need to set up some boundaries.

It wouldnt surprise me if 4-6 5 stars or high 4 -stars collaborated and portaled to a particular team just to make a super team to go out as champions, maybe it might happen every year.

Not mentioned, but certainly we won the recruiting battle for Bijan again too.

George Bailey No beans in my chili, thank you

I quit caring about the NFL a few years ago. No loyalty to the team and none reciprocated. Not knowing if the team you're watching this Sunday will be the same this time next year just took the fun out of it. It's starting to look like college football will be all that on steroids. All to fatten a few folk's wallets.

I was under the assumption that no school could contact another school’s player Before they entered the portal?
If USC indeed was guilty of this, the Power 5 schools have to immediately set up a governing body on their own and completely eliminate the toothless NCAA altogether.
Start with a clean sheet and have laws that punish with real penalties.

    Subpoena powers immediately for starters.

NCAA couldn't figure out how a single mother went from unairconditioned 2 BR frame home to an 1800 sq ft brick home with central AC immediately after her son signed with SMU.

NCAA couldn't understand that 38 players on SMU team were driving new Nissan Z cars from Warren Bankston when their parents had trouble paying the home electric bill was more than a coincidence.

NCAA found an OU LB driving both a new Corvette and a Jaguar convertible not worthy of investigation.

No need to investigate the six figure annuities Osborne passed out in Lincoln.

The list could go on and on. How can you think the NCAA is "toothless"?

If it goes the way I predict it to, which is how it appears to be trending, I’ll be gone too but I can’t just dump it now.

It will be reined in, like everything else. The folks who make money are the ones who figure out a way before everyone else grabs a piece of the pie or regulates you to the sidelines.

If I was the one making the decision on regulation, I would put Barry Switzer in charge of NIL for all college athletes. The guy wrote the book on cheating and knows better than anyone how to keep this thing under control and the participants under control.

Of course, the idiots, who couldn't find out that Heritage Publishing had NO printing presses for Murray to clean because they never opened one door into the warehouse even though the NCAA investigators walked by the doors over 100 times, will be in charge of enforcing the rules for NIL.

If we have to have this crap, have the "pros" control and enforce the rules.

Come on, the printing press was sent back to the manufacturer for repair!
