Freedom isn't free. It is purchased with blood. All of us who enjoy our freedom today need to give thanks for the brave men and women throughout our history who purchased our freedom with their blood.
I will say a special prayer for my eleven USAFA classmates whose names are on the Wall at the Viet Nam Memorial. "All gave some, some gave all."

    Like many of you....

I remember today, that I had numerous relatives that served in WWII that are all gone now. Army Air Corps, Navy, Marines. 1 was wounded at Okinawa, but all returned from the war thankfully. Some went on to college, some got married and started families. All had good lives. Only 1 would openly talk about his war experience, others rarely did or never did.

Looking at that photo of that young Marine... it reminded me of a neighbor family who had a daughter, Brenda, I was in HS with. Her older brother Private Mike LeMaster was a young Marine that shipped off to Vietnam and was over there approx. 4-6 weeks before he was killed sometime late 1968 or 1969. I will always remember him and how his death absolutely devastated that family.
