I just ordered a 40" Samsung 1080p with a 120Hz refresh rate (LNT4071F)for $1,598 delivered. That was almost $800 cheaper than anywhere else I found it on line. If you were waiting for a good deal, this is it.
Congrats, now is the time to buy because stores will be clearing their inventory for the new units will be coming out this spring. I bought my display 2 years ago just before Super Bowl and received a great deal.
I had similar luck - I picked up the 40" Samsung LCD at Fry's the day after Christmas for $999 - that was a great sale. The next day it was back at $1,500. Granted, its not 20,000:1 like the OP is referring to but I was looking at the lower end.
Now, if the order would just go through. Amazon says my debit card didn't work, so I tried to do a direct withdraw from my bank account and that didn't work either. I called my bank this morning and everything is good on that end, so I don't know what the problem is. I called amazon and they told me to redo the order. I did and now we'll see what happens.
I remember seeing that 999 65 incher, and thinking what you would have to do to get one of those. So how many people did you have to kill to get that thing?
