With Hansen, Gordon, and Stevens likely used up for weekend, tomorrow will probably be Morehouse and company with very short leashes. Really need offense to come loaded for bear.

The silver lining is that whoever we face won't have the cream of their staff available either.

Doug Hodo had a couple of outstanding plays in the outfield.

    Probably so.

Maybe something like a combo of:

Harrison and Olivarez as the two “dig us out of this hole” guys to insert when we get in trouble. Each will then be expected to pitch the next two innings.
    and
    DuP 1-2 innings starter
    Southard 1-2 innings
    Sthele 1-2 innings
    LBJ 2-3 innings
    Morehouse up to 3-4 innings
    Nixon 1 inning

Either that, or start our best remaining pitcher—Olivarez—and see how long he’s good for.

I hope Hodo is ok. You could see a goose egg developing on his cheekbone.

Let's hope AF, LaTech goes about 18 innings and they're down to their 1st baseman coming in to pitch.

I just don't have a lot of confidence in the arms we have left, and both those teams can hit.

It's sad we're having to think this way, because I'm wondering about this too. We have 24 pitchers on staff and have used less pitchers than anyone yet we come into just our 3rd game hoping someone will step up. Surely AFA nor La Tech has more pitching depth than us.

As expected the team is much better when the money is on the line. They’ll want to kill the beast in the first game today.
    I’m thinking Olivares/Stehle /Cobb.
Time to push Olivares into number 3.

Have some faith. If he goes two or part of the second inning, that gives us 7 innings to cover those four grand slams.

Don’t want to overlook this evenings game - but we need Virginia to win out and come out of the ECU Regional. Or tonight will be last game at Disch-Faulk this season.
    Go Horns!

Regardless of where it is- we need to win first 2 games of SR. It will get tougher to win 3rd game of series as we are pretty much relying on offense to win after the second game. The early injury to Whitt was very costly. Seedings matter.

AF just jacked one about 450 feet over LF. Narrows the LT lead to 4-3 in the 5th.

At the game that one may have gone well over 450 ft. Just a massive blast.

Both teams burning pitching, but at the same time both teams are smacking the ball around pretty good too.

Lot of homers in this AF-La. Tech game. 9-7 AF in the 8th.

Some of the teams we lost to (AF, Tx St, aggy) turned out to be good teams.

I wonder if there has been another school with men's and women's teams in Baseball and softball NC?
    Starting an hour apart?
