Funny bracket. You've got us--the baseball blueblood, who slumped mid-year, then got it back and is on a roll. Then you've got hot, streaking baseball upstarts. OU's red hot run has gone on for quite a while now. It's about time for it to play out and for them to cool down. aTm has significant momentum, and a good batting lineup. Notre Dame is Notre Dame and will catch lucky breaks out of the thin air; the ball will often bounce in their direction; and it looks like the ND football magic now extends to baseball as well. They've also got some good arms, like Alex Rao, and some bats. The media will be fawning all over them, of course... As much as folks have griped about our pitching this year, here and now, I'd rather have our pitching staff than the staff of any of ND, OU, or aTm. (sucks)
Congrats to Coach Pierce and his 2022 team for getting back to Omaha. His leadership has led these guys through a tumultuous season. Now it’s time to bring some more hardware back to UT. Let’s Go Horns! And are these guys seeing the baseball or what?!!!
I like our odds with the hispanic titanic in the line up. Not that he has been the most consistent in the post-season, but his swing can change the momentum of a game instantly.
Planning on going to ND game. Will they wait until other games are finished to announce Fri schedule?
2 DANGEROUS teams with the intangibles, momentum, and everything lining up at the right time for them: -AND- "Yeah, that's right. Dangerous is our middle name."
The zoo. Seriously I mean it, go to the zoo, it is one of the most awesome zoo's in the world and well worth an off day morning or afternoon.
On texags (before Texas punched the ticket): ATM is 2-12 in Omaha…games…and 6 trips…in program history. Texas has 88 wins in 37 trips (50%) of ALL CWC, 6 Titles. Y'all making any attempt to talk trash in baseball is indescribably hilarious.
More: I asked this on the baseball board-- when you guys play the Dirt Merchants this weekend, who gets to do the horns down? Is there a coin flip before first pitch?
I think that "honor" goes to OU. They were the first group I ever saw do it, but then I'm older than the dirt they "merchanted".
Gut feeling is that our side of the bracket will play on Friday and the other side will play on Saturday (to give the winners of today's games the extra day). I think since there is more national "draw" for ND/UT over OU/aTm, we will get the prime time game and OU/aTm will be Friday's day game. But the official announcement will come later today.
I would say cws experience is not really that much of an advantage. Each team are really determined to win and will bear down to win.
If Texas doesn't win it all, I'm rooting for Skip Johnson and OU. He deserved better from the UT Athletic Dept when Augie retired and the Sooners were smart to go after him.
Seconded! When we were in Omaha for the week for the Covid NCAA Volleyball tournament last year, we spent one of the days off at the zoo. It is definitely a top notch zoo.
I have only seen the vids on here. Did WE excessively celebrate in the face of the EC fans like Arkie did
The announcer on Stanford/UConn game said the winner will kick off CWS on Friday against Ark. That puts Texas game on Sat
Ate here on an anniversary with the wife, ex-wife now, best steak I ever had. Supposedly, Buffet eats there and when bands tour Omaha they eat there according to our waitress who served us. I spent about $350 with tip for two. I got the bone in ribeye was $85 for 16 oz. All sides are a la carte.
