    BOTTOM LINE - runs/runs allowed

    Runs Scored / Runs Surrendered
    ND..........1.69
    UT...........1.82

    Advantage UT

There's no chopped liver served in Omaha (but plenty of mail order steaks...).

Still, I'd give us a slight-to-moderate overall advantage on the stats sheet over ND.

This is some very good competition. Guess that's to be expected in Omaha.

Notre Dame is the best pitching team we've faced in a long, long time.

Of course, they're not used to throwing to a batting lineup like ours...

If we pitch decently, we will win. Just avoid the 5-run innings.

A few crooked numbers of our own would help too.

What is the comparison on strength of schedule? I couldn't find it.

    An excellent question

    Per Warren Nolan,
    Strength of Schedule:

    UT #26
    ND #31

Roughly comparable with a slight edge to us. With that, a comparison of our stats is indeed an “apples-to-apples” comparison.

They did choke up and got swept twice vs Duke and Louisville. Although they swept Florida State.
The shutdown of Tech ,twice,is impressive.
Of course Tech bats had run its course as of late.

We definitely have the emotional edge and the Omaha experience edge.

Something I'm curious to see is how they respond after upsetting Tennessee. Will they come out flat or are they still hungry? A team that can beat the May/June version of TN was playing at a level higher than those stats indicate.
