And Ole Miss is up 2-0 on Auburn early on. The Rebels have been catching lucky breaks lately like they were Notre Dame. They’re red hot like OU has been lately. Their dormant talent is igniting at just the right time. I pick Ole Miss to advance from that side of the bracket.
Ole Miss up 5-1 over Auburn in the middle of the 8th. A Rebel win will set up a winners bracket match with the pigs—a team and fanbase long cherished and adored by the Rebels.
I know we’re supposed to despise them, but that Van Horn is one heck of a coach. (of course so was Frank Broyles…)
It’s final. Miss v Arkansas in the winners bracket on the other side. Auburn will play the boxed wine drinkers in an elimination game.
^Lots of baseball still to be played in this game. IMO, Arkansas is the best team still playing - I'm thinking they'll win the CWS.
By the way, that left field corner at Schwab is tricky. Kennedy had a hard time with it. Ark’s LF just had a hard time with it. That corner can turn a double into a triple real easy.
Elliot seems on track now. He threw a real good game for the Rebs in the super regionals. Old timers might say that boy needs a haircut. Reb’s weakness=fielding.
I’ve long had the sense that the national media doesn’t care much for Ole Miss in anything. They’re the anti-Notre Dame.
So I guess Van Horn really sucks, huh? Arkansas didn’t even make the CWS last year. In fact, in his first 6 years at Arkansas, they only made the CWS once! They should have canned that loser coach a long time ago, huh?
Oh, and don’t even get me started on that third rate hack that coaches Ole Miss—Mike Bianco. He went 13 years before the Rebels made their first CWS under Bianco’s coaching. Wow, what a total loser. They should have thrown that bum out years ago, huh?
Give Pierce kudos for at least booting Allen. Several on here and in the media keep talking about last years assistant of the year. Seems like that is hollywoods version of an oscar. Its a popularity type win & Pierce knows his seat will take heat from the big cigars without some changes.
