man the old Cowboys of my youth are dropping fast............see where Don Perkins has passed away.............helluva runner and deadly on those screens from Dandy Don............

I don't know where to find his stats, but as I recall, he averaged over 5 yards per carry during his career, yet his longest run was less than 20 yards. Guy was definition of consistency

I joined the Cowboys fan base after moving to Texas as a fourth grader. As luck would have it I had to start rooting for the Cowboys after Meredith and Perkins retired. A more experienced fan lamented. "The Cowboys can't go without Perkins like a car can't go without wheels." But soon Calvin Hill and Roger Staubach attracted my attention and admiration.
