Poor Gordon, he was very sharp in the first - 3 up 3 down. Second inning he struggled.

 

Well Eyes ... things are kind of ugly right now. Melendez catching error brings in a run for aggy.

This ump seems to me to like it high. If you’re a bit outside and a bit high —> strike. If you’re low — even in the zone —> ball. You can be a bit inside, outside, or over the middle, but if you’re high in the zone —> strike.

as long as he calls it consistently for both teams…

 

Southard was outside right there, but he was high in the zone. Strike.

 

Now he’s getting a bit inconsistent…

Haven’t seen all the games but why isn’t Southard a day 2 starter and not Gordon?
