So...Linc only gets 2 years easy path to try and appear to be a great coach, then he actually has to face some competition.
...Better make the most of '23/'24 out West.

Does this mean the SEC goes and kidnaps Clemson and Florida State?

I’m sure I’m wrong, but would be interesting if USC recruits want no part of cold weather games and portal to SEC.

I keep thinking that you're going to get transferred to DFW. What's the latest on the merger?

I think they postponed the vote until tomorrow or early next week.

A good guess. JB is money whipping Spirit. If JB wins, they are going to have to shed routes that F9 should jump on.

Can Spirit raise enough money to paint those baby-**** yellow planes another color?

Either way, we will be fine. 5th largest airline wit Spirit, or the only remaining ULCC w/o them.

And, if people think JB acquiring Spirit won't drive up airfares, they are in LaLa Land.

Of course they wiil, but they will blame anything except the fact that they overpaid for Spirit.

Chortle chortle chortle...don't you just love it when we live in their heads rent free. "Embrace the Dark Side". Though I think it would have been funnier said in Porky Pig voice.

FWIW, this was the take of my customer, a former water polo player at USC, had after the announcement:

“So now I have to change gears and start cheering against teams I’ve never given a s**t about? Minnesota? Northwestern? Purdue? Indiana? WTF?

No more "Runnin' with the Devil" at ASU. The Beavs and the Cougs mean different things depending on where in the gutter one's mind resides. Gophers?

Now USC is just a Big 10 expansion team.

Good thing I quit giving money.”

You are correct, but if Twidly Dumbazz wants to let us live in his head rent free...so be it. "Embrace the darkside, Luke"

People want to point fingers with no knowledge of what happened, who was involved, nor the reasoning for why it happened.

    1) Coach Broyles made the necessary decision that his program could not survive financially in the Deloss Dodds Conference. The Hogs needed money and needed it quickly. The SEC offered immediate and continued relief.

    2) A&M lost $20 million a year for at least two, and possibly three straight years. They needed Nebraska & Colorado's exit fees.

    3) Colorado & Nebraska were totally dependent on Texas & California recruits. Both humped the puppy and severed ties with Texas recruiting. That and atrocious coaching hires doomed both, although I don't think either has negatively impacted Nebraska's finances thanks to the best fans in the country.

    4) After bitching about Nebraska's lack of academic standards, Missouri fled to academic rich SEC after being rejected by the BigTen in an act of vengeance.

They needed a home. The SWC was doomed and Arky wasn't going to be invited to the Big12. Arky made the only move they could. Question is, why was Arky excluded from Big12 consideration?

Next year when this topic comes up it will jump to losing $30 million per year for 4 years. By this talk you'd think A&M was Tarleton State money-wise.

Nebraska and Colorado were dominant BEFORE the Big12 existed. Bad coaching hires and a a fan base with memories of Osborne's dominant squads was way more damaging than their Texas recruiting woes. Hell, tOSU has been getting plenty of Texas kids and they never play here.

Missouri was basically the Amber Heard of the Big12... bed shitting and all.

Nope, it has been $20 million since y'all borrowed from the school, but then followed that loss with another $20 million the next year.

As for Tarleton State, I believe they are more fiscally responsible than the mother ship.

The death of Colorado and Nebraska is probably caused by many things but at this point I think SEC greater than BIG. BIG did good w USC and UCLA but they have 4 premiere teams. Both will try to add more teams. I think ACC, FSU and Clemson are in bad shape because the Grant of rights is a decade away. If they dissolve ACC voluntarily some teams will be winners but otherwise they will all be left out. SEC should just take Oregon and Washington out of spite
