They probably should remove the running lane at “X” number of feet before the bag. The runner needs to run to the base.
I don’t know how they could be. They stayed in the winners bracket all the way till last night. But I haven’t been keeping up with their pitching staff in the tournament.
Big congrats to the Ole Miss Rebels. They got red hot and took care of business. Their arms were impressive. Their bats were opportunistic and showed up in force at just the right times for some rallies that were nothing short of beautiful to watch—throughout the playoffs. They came out of nowhere to take it all. A well-deserved National Championship.
Game recap. Final: Ole Miss 4 OU 2 Elliot pitched 6 2/3 innings giving up 2 runs. Good job there. Horton did well pitching for OU, basically matching Elliot’s effort. But the Sooners’ bullpen squelched their hopes to even up the series and force a third game (in which they would have faced DeLucia). OU’s relief pitcher Michael, and his catcher, blew the Sooners’ hopes in the 8th, with the Rebels scoring the go-ahead run and the insurance run, on wild pitches / passed balls. Can’t win a championship doing that multiple times in a game.
