Malik Muhammad | TexAgs "All the commits that go to Texas simply going for money. Our guys come for love of school, old army, and love of the game." "Allowing them in the SEC and NIL has given them a selling point now. The have been resuscitated from the walking dead... Yep, and we could've had some balls and voted no on letting them in. But we caved" And then, the rarest of all ags weighs in. The ag with a minuscule amount of common sense and realization of the coming doom: "So glad I'm not wrapped up in Aggie Football anymore. This would be devastating to see how close we were and now how tu has already been given a lifeline. 100 year decision is now an Aggie joke."
I’ll bet very few know the cryptic Aggie language. Old Army? Yes, some kid goes to A&M because of ‘Ol Army! Good Bull.
It's true I mean you always hear these recruits be like yeah a&m old army bruh, luv that old army vibe be nut squeezin milk man hand jesters jackboot soldier bros git me some LOL!
No, Bill actually told Vince, "we don't give a ****". I could be wrong, but I remember him saying, calling Vince "Mr Buckley", but I may have dreamed that part.
That would be great and would like to *** Hick's but unlikely. Matthews would be a take!! maybe a couple of solid O/D lineman
I don’t know who anyone is behind their screen names, but I am going to go out on a limb and take a guess you came to UT from Bellville. Would that be correct?
After doing some quick research, I now know why my guess was mistaken. Thanks for your reply and causing me to take a look at it.
I, for one, would love to hear SpiderAg's take on this. That is, if he's still with us and didn't pass away in some sort of freak meat judging accident.
I checked. The last recruit anm signed based solely on his love of the Ol' Army concept was a kid named Jack Pardee.
for those who do not know (I was one until I saw this) ... Texas Longhorns recruiting operations coordinator, Tyler Johnson Texas football has four-star RB Cedric Baxter Jr. on its mind
George, Pardee didn't commit because he loved Ole Army. He told the Touchdown Club of Houston that he came from 6 man football in a small community where practice was easier than chores. A&M promised him a room with a bed, indoor plumbing, all he could eat, AND they provided his everyday clothing. He said, "It wasn't until I got there that I found out the clothing was an army uniform."
"Allowing them in the SEC and NIL has given them a selling point now. The have been resuscitated from the walking dead..." That's not necessarily true. Our real problem has been our coaching hires (i.e. development of players and the binder). Baylor (on and off) and OU have been competitive. We could have done very well in the Big 12 but didn't make the right choices.
moon, that was an error on my part. I meant to imply 'have' not ***....no idea why I made the typo....!!!
Just some musings and names on probable/ possible commitment dated. OT Payton Kirkland - Saturday, July 23rd Edge Derion Gullette - soon, but no date Edge Braylon Shelby.- soon, but no date (USC lean) Edge Colton Vasek - "very soon", but no date (Oregon a manor obstacle) LB Anthony Hill - End of July RB Cedrick Baxter -8/10 commitment CB Javien Toviano - 8/25 (opener vs Lake Travis) WR Jalen Hale -9/22 commitment CB Jordan Matthews - Septemberish ATH/WR Mikal HP - after fall visits TE Duce Robinson - long game... DL- Hunter Osborne - ??? DL - David Hicks - UA AA game, Jan 2nd
The Texas kid committed to ouSUX has really solidified himself after the camps. Jackson Arnold Guyer (Denton, TX) now 15th nationally on 247 Comp... Glad the Top Texas QB is showing well.
I'm not gonna lie. I'd close up shop and go fishing if we got Hicks, Hill, Baxter, Toviano, and Vasek. 24 commits would be just fine for me. lol
And anyone that's ever had the misfortune of traveling through Christoval knows indeed how hard those chores could've been. Probably started with and ended with a mohair sheep. On 2nd thought, maybe ol' Jack was right at home in College Station...
