I'd love to see all those games on the non-conference schedule!

I really didn’t know where to put a comment but I guess in this chat will do. I think nobody is giving Shay Holle enough type time. I haven’t seen anybody post anything about her. She was a starter and solid part of why we was good last season. Yes losing Mathru is a blow but Vic knows what’s up. I think we still haven’t seen the best of Holle. She is solid she hits most of her open shots, she rebounds, plays D, lightning quick in transition. I’m looking for her and Hunter to have bigger roles than what yal giving them

Morris and Gonzales are big names and will looked upon to be dawgs but this team as a whole is one Vics most deep. Also Mwentanda ( I think I misspelled it sorry no disrespect) the freshman is going to surprise us for a couple of different reasons. She wasn’t highly touted like the 3 from last year, she seems like a worker type in every video posted on Twitter, and she has length. Her and Amina are going to have they chances to put they stamp on this team as well

If you was to put last year team vs this team on paper this team would kill them in my opinion. We have a floor general, big guards, wings, speed, versatility, several bigs to throw at in different varieties as well, and a hell of a coach. This team stacks up ,on paper, with the likes of UConn, South Carolina, Tennessee, Stanford. All of those teams have questions that need to be addressed.
    Tennessee-PG and balanced scoring
    Stanford - Guards ???
S Carolina- PG and can they run it back
UConn- can the young ones take over and build they own legacy.

Anyone know why Codio is not in Austin? I know she moved in but from the looks of it, she has not been in Austin and she just posted on Instagram saying she misses the team.

She said on Ig live that she got something in her arm that she can’t travel on a plane with at the moment. She said she will be back sometime next week or the week after that I can’t remember

These girls are just amazing! I see Rori changed her hair. Surprised I thought the red was sort of her signature. Sure wish Shaylee and Sonya were here for this!

Texas MBB released their nonconference schedule today - really hope WBB is soon to follow. I got 2 season tickets and would like to be able to start making travel/dog-boarding plans. First 3 games for the men are all at Moody: UTEP, Houston Baptist and Gonzaga.

Weird. It seems to be some kind of 'classic' but playing Northern Arizona in Edinburg while UTRGV in Austin? Would make a lot more sense to play UTRGV in Edinburg (where they're located) and NA in Austin. Misprint?

I haven't been on this board in weeks. I was shocked to see that Matharu is leaving. This whole thing just isn't as much fun as it used to be. Not just her, the whole portal thing is ridiculous. We see that college sports really are about self and not about team. Those old ideas of team spirit and team loyalty -- what are those? Maybe just a myth, maybe they really never existed. Now it is like, "Gee, who is blowing through the program this year?" Let's see -- who is on the team this week?" There may be some good reasons for Matharu's choice. I wouldn't know that. I assume it comes down to politics of one sort or another. But it sure takes away from the fun of being for a team, when the team is such a fleeting thing.

Since the men are playing on a Monday night against UTEP, I'm guessing that will be the first ever game at Moody. Women will probably play a day or two later.

Nothing against UTEP, but I hope the women can schedule a program that will attract more interest and help draw in the fans.

It is so difficult to understand how Texas operates as far as releasing schedules and official rosters.

    - Women's Volleyball: Begins the season in late August. Schedule was released a couple of weeks ago. Still no official 2022 roster up on TexasSports.com

    - Women's Basketball: Begins the season in early November. No non-conference schedule released yet. But, the official 2022-23 roster has been up on TexasSports.com for many weeks, and updated periodically based on outgoing and incoming transfers.

    - Men's Basketball: Begins the season in early November. Non-conference schedule released today. Still no official 2022-23 roster up on TexasSports.com

Based on all the recent IG posts, looks like most of the team has had their program ‘picture’ day.

Not really a fan of the player-in-the-dark photos. Surprised it got released.

It’s so quiet on this board, I’ve wondered all day if my iPad is malfunctioning. I’m posting here just to see. Is anybody out there? Must be SOME news or opinions on July 25! Schaefer…..doing anything?

Keep hoping to see Sonya and Shaylee in one of the summer workout updates….but not yet. Looks like a short handed crew in this one.

I don't think they can participate unless they are taking classes. NCAA rule

I see those workout videos and am reminded how conditioned those kids are. I work out myself but am pretty sure I wouldn't survive 10 minutes with them.

Texas WBB was tagged in this post and 100 days from yesterday is 11/4 so I'd wager the women will be the first to play at the Moody. Elena Lovato and several players included it in their IG stories as well.

EDIT: Just noticed that "NOVEMBER 4TH" is included on the post so I didn't need to use Excel to calculate it.

Kudos for the support of women’s athletics. I hope this will not be an anomaly in WBB

    It certainly has.

If I were a coach, I would prefer this model (equal payments to each player) over the current Texas model of NIL payments to team stars, like Rori. The more you can do to keep benefits roughly equal, the easier it is to promote team unity.

This announcement appears to be local-news-hack speak. Lots of exclamation points and silly, unsupported speculation, but not a lot of details. $25,000 per player, but over what period of time? 4 years? And are these those worthless aggie booster type loans, or is this real money that doesn't have to be repaid? If you look up this "Level13 Agency", it appears to be Tech Boosters' attempts to try to replicate the Clark Field Collective. But Clark Field was announced last year as covering ALL UT Athletes (men and women). So Tech Boosters have just now decided that WBB players are important? Its about time. Does anyone know what the Clark Field payout is? There were rumors about what the payments might be, but I've never heard anyone confirm what players actually receive.
