I thought this might be a provocative subject. Here are my Top 10, with a little help from “bad short game:”

1969 - “Game of the Century.” 4th & 3, Street to Peschel in Fayetteville.

1/4/06 - Vince Young Scores! “4th & 5, the National Championship is on the line right here.”

1940 - “The Impossible Catch.” Noble Doss’ long pass play early in the game to set the tone and eventually beat the undefeated and reigning national champion Aggies in Austin.

1970 - Eddie Phillips to Cotton Speyer. The miracle pass against UCLA.

1998 - “Ricky Williams runs to the Hall of Fame. Ricky Williams scores.”

1963 - Duke Carlisle intercepts Don Trull of Baylor to preserve the undefeated season in the last minutes.

1996 - “Roll left.” CCG, James Brown’s pass against heavily favored Nebraska. (Could we see a repeat on 9/10/22?)

1995 - Phil Dawson miracle 50 yard game winning FG against the wind vs. Virginia

1969, Arkansas (Game of the Century) Street runs to Nixon’s helicopter for our first score, on the first play of the 4th quarter.

    2011 - Justin Tucker’s game winning FG against A&M.

    Honorable Mention:

1965 - Nobis stops Namath at goal line to win the Orange Bowl.

1962 - Pat Culpepper & Johnny Treadwell stop Arkansas’ Danny Brabham (who fumbles), preserving an undefeated season…until the TCU game.

1994 - Stonie Clark’s goal line hit against OU to preserve the win.

2006 - 4th & 2 stop of Lindale White, late in the NC game.

2004 Rose Bowl last play field goal against Meatchicken to win the game.

October 17, 1987 War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock: Stafford to Jones on the last play of the game to beat Arkansas. One of the best plays I have seen in person. I also made some great moves that day to avoid being hit by ice and whiskey bottles.

1989 OU game Gardere to Walker

1990 OU Game Gardere to Cash

You have a great list. I was at the 2005 Rose bowl, 1994 OU game, 1995 Virginia game, 1998 aggie game, 1970 UCLA game and add those 6 plays to make my ten.

Earl's run behind Steve Hall's block against OU in 1977 has to be in there somewhere.

    Honorable Mention:

Richard Peavy's hit on Marcus Dupree, that was Dupree's last play in college football

Chris Duliban knocking out Billy Cannon, Jr at Kyle Field

Multiple in the 1977 A&M game including Earl's TD catch on our first possession.

Scott Appleton's blindside hit on Don Trull in 1963 when Lawrence Elkins was in a different zip code from any Texas DBs.

Brett Stafford to Tony Jones on the last play of the game against Arkansas.

Stafford to Jones HAS to be on the list, and that video is priceless for capturing Hatfield's utter disbelief at what just happened to him.

Couldn't happen to a more deserving person. Hatfield's 1986 team came into Memorial Stadium and left as the dirtiest SWC team I had ever seen. And yes, I was there when TCU purposely ended Kenneth Sims career

Fabulous play - and a great deal of credit to the linebacker #40 (don't recall his name) for staying in his assignment and forcing the runner to the inside where Clark was available for the stop.

A play I will always remember because the tv cameras showed the throw from an angle that showed how the ball was thrown to a spot and not the receiver was Case McCoy v OU suks for a TD. I’m sure it is improperly called a down, out and up route by me but the ball was thrown while receiver (embarrassed I cannot think of his name now) was in his ‘out’ when ball was thrown. You usually do not get the camera in a position to show that but this was remarkable execution demonstrated on the camera view beautifully. Can’t forget it.

Yup, the Marcus Johnson wheel route was a thing of beauty. Case McCoy deserves some love today!

How does THIS not make the list SOMEWHERE, at least as an honorable mention? It was an aggregate efforts, but still...

And in THIS day and age, you would see three or four hankies on the field...even Brent was trying to claim they should have called something...the Kindle hit on Tceh's Potts.

Dion is correct G40. A thing of beauty I appreciate your looking up. It didn’t play long enough for the specific video replay but it was truly amazing. They ran it like there was no one on the field but them. Outstanding execution.

Kindle rampaging through Potts would get called every time today.

Westbrook v. McElroy 1995 and Westbrook v. Kinder 1996 are high on my list.

There was at least one other Tceh sack I remember, but damned if I could find the video...don't call if it was Harrell or maybe even Baker getting faceplanted somewhere around his own 10 yd line...

Makes for pleasant viewing but not necessarily iconic even as a 4th runner up alternate...

Aaron Humphrey literally planted Kliff Kingsbury several times one game. It was Kilffy's freshman year if I recall correctly. I'll give him credit for this: he took a severe beating that night but kept getting up and competing. Props for that.

Kingsbury enjoyed it because it was easier to see up those short skirts in the student section from his back.

I'll admit this one probably shouldn't make the list, but I never tire of watching it because that 360 pivot is still beautiful to behold

Glad you found and posted that video of the '99 game. I went through it and compiled all the QB hits we had. You're right: how Kingsbury survived that shellacking was a miracle! I think Peters was actually killed sometime in the 3rd quarter. (JK)
