I find the new social program going on in College Station is overdue and very needed. It's about time.

Alnwick Poison Garden — the Deadliest Garden in the World

    alnwickgarden.com/the-garden/poison-garden

Locked behind black steel doors in Northumberland, England, the Poison Garden at Alnwick Castle grows around 100 infamous killers. From deadly nightshade to hemlock, the only way a plant can take root in this garden is if it is lethal to humans. Created by the Duchess of Northumberland, this is one garden where you won’t want to stop and smell the flowers.

    Bolwoningen: Neighborhood of Spherical Homes

    Unusualplaces.org | HiddenArchitecture.net | Archdaily.com

Hertogenbosch (“Den Bosch”), Netherlands is home to an unusual neighborhood known as Bolwoningen, which means ball houses.

In 1968, the Government of the Netherlands decided to fund an experimental construction of low-cost housing. The architect Dris Kreikampa’s project “Bolwoningen” was chosen, but construction began in 1980.

Bolwoningen consists of 50 sphere houses. The balls are made of cement, reinforced with fiberglass. They are mounted on the base in the form of a cylinder. Each sphere’s diameter is 18 feet and each has 11 round windows.

The layout of these structures is quite unusual. In the center of the sphere there is a bathroom and a tiny bedroom, and a living room and kitchen, are located on the second floor-level. The house can be completely disassembled and transported to any other place (the weight of this building is only about 2755 lbs). In addition, this building can be placed not only on the ground, but also on water, on a stationary platform.

    LC,

Cayman has several spots to wall dive. Off the north sound it drops from 125 ft to about 5,000; two walls on northwest corner 125 ft to 2500 & another to 8,000. On the Southeast corner of the island, which is largely undeveloped, you can swim off the beach about 200 yards and drop from 110 to over 20,000 feet. It is the bluest blue you'll ever see, but you have to be very careful about euphoria setting in

I read a few years ago that some cancers and other diseases were suspected to be metabolic in nature and not genetic — or maybe not strictly genetic — and all this tied back to diet having a bigger influence than previously thought. I had gone to a low carb diet and felt so much better so I was curious about carbs and metabolism.

Sounds like this kind of thing may be related to your comment, no? The subject is fascinating to me.

The study of the human glycome will be as important as the study of the human genome. Our cells are composed sets of carbohydrates that are unique to each of us. High percentages of the weight of our cells are carbohydrates but until recently their function was a mystery. Turns out their function effects a wide range of disease. This new field has nothing to do with the carbohydrates one consumes as food. you may contact me if it’s allowed. Sadly the land thieves are way ahead of us and I’m trying to do something about it.
