Are y’all surprised they still can’t crack the roster? Would any of you have thought Luke would have the most playing time in college?

Question- if they both wanted to transfer here this off season do we have room? Or nah, we already moved on?

I’d be interested in having Kool-Aid McKinstry though.

I’m very surprised about Tommy. A 5 star, Rivals had him as the # 9 player in the 21 class. 247 and On3 had him as # 6.

We all know that Bama is loaded with O linemen but after two years in the program, it doesn’t really add up. It’s either coaching, motivation or he peaked in HS.

I wish them well, and I have no real influence.. but no. Stay at Bama and they can watch Luke play in a couple of weeks.
I hope they make 2nd team sec at some point.
Sam Houston is always looking for players if it comes to the portal.

Wonder when Sark releases ULM 2 deep.

    WorsterMan SEC here we come!!

Either AL quality OL competition got the better of them, they were really not as good as the pundits said... or they thought Daddy's name has some level of entitlement. OR, some combination of those.

    Just guesses...

Sorry, I know they are legacy, but I say screw 'em... finish out with the ***** you chose.

They chose their path. Maybe they make it as Seniors. I welcome them back to try out as Longhorns. But there there are no guarantees at this point.

Eyes... I think we seriously doubt they would BOTH portal, in hopes UT would pick em up. I could be wrong.

    Anyway...

These daze, these kids will portal at the drop of SabreHorn's handsome black Cowboy hat to some other program that might give them more PT.

    Joshua Moore for example?

Dad was a great player. I don’t blame them for going to the best football program in the country regardless if we know the ethics. If they are not two deep there, then okay. We need first teamers. They made a wrong decision to begin with.

Lots of good players wait their turn at great programs...especially in the offensive line. Neither is a failure at Bama until he believes he is. If they choose to portal after two years in Saban's program any college, especially us, would be crazy not to evaluate them.

Is this their second or third year?

Were they at UT, they would at least be getting a solid degree. Perhaps there they are at least getting a solid education as to how Saban coaches. Perhaps one or both aspire to be HS coaches

They didn't care to play for Tom.

    I can't say I blame them.

If I'm not mistaken this is their second year at Bama, making them redshirt freshmen. Hardly makes them a bust at this point. If they aren't on the two deep next year I'd just say they were overrated. They wouldn't be the first guys that's happened to. Dominating in high school is great, but it ain't Division 1 NCAA. You just never know for sure.

It's amazing how many "can't miss" prospects are straight up misses. There are just so many pitfalls out there. Going from being the big dog all through high school to piss-ant freshman on a team full of talented players on top of being in a new environment can overwhelm a kid.

I remember one 5* player who didn't quite live up to expectations... turns out his parents were in the process of divorcing during his Soph and Junior seasons. He came on during his senior year, but the previous two he was a non-factor. Point is, there is way more we don't know about these kids' lives.

I guess we can look back at this in another year or two and see how it all plays out.

Losing the Brocks & Quinn helped us move on beyond Tom. I, for 1, am glad it happened.

Tommy is hurt (foot). His inability to practice and play is related to that. James has been banged up too. Like a poster said above, judgements about whether they play at Bama and make it to the next level will have to wait a year or two, imo.

As I weave through the cobwebs of my senile mind I seem to remember in the old days of the great dynasties, and before million $ high school weight rooms and supplements (being kind), it was groom and grow for “O” linemen and q’backs for the first two years. Those are the two most difficult positions for the babies to crack into the lineup. The twins just need time because they are in THE current dynasty. Having said that, why not knock Bama of their perch next week. Done!
