Just finished watching it on recording.

Good complete win. Took care of business. Came back from an early deficit. Sark with some more nifty play designs (he’s arguably the best in the business at that). Good running performance. Good blocking. D not exceptional—but Good. Congrats to our team for a good win over a pretty good team. We won by 3 touchdowns. And what a bogus targeting call on Overshown.

    Special kudos to:
    :bevo::bevo::bevo::bevo::bevo:
    Bijan
    Roschon
    Card
    Jones
    J Whitt
    Overshown
    Ford
    Murphy
    The entire D backfield

This year, we have one of our better defensive backfields of the last few decades.

Having a decent pass rush seems to make them even better.

Give UTSA due credit - they came ready to play. In the end, the superior talent prevailed.
And the targeting call was atrocious! If anything, the UTSA QB lowered his head into Overshown. I think the post-game review will overturn that one.
Time to get ready to play Tceh!

We better hope Sarks appeal to the Big 12 office re targeting on Overshown is succesful.

We really need him the first half vs. Tech next week.

Ford had a monster game. 15 tackles / 10 solo. With him & Overshown, LB is no longer a liability.

Harris is good. Hope his injury isn't serious.

Just got back from the game. I read this from beginning to end. The ups and downs here were just like at the game. One thing not discussed here is that fake touchdown for RR finally ruled incomplete. Any discussion on why that wasn't illegal touching? The receiver was clearly out and came back in. I couldn't see if he was forced out.

It was said he was forced out though that was marginal from the replays.

I am not hopeful that the big 12 office will do the right thing here. We have had a few years of very bad officiating. I expect the oversight to be the same.

Must have watched another game. I saw UTSA receivers open the entire game.

I saw a UTSA team that had one 3 an put. I could go on for a while.

The fact that Harris appears to have a concussion may not help.

Me thinks the innernet is getting worse or people/fans are getting sorrier/dumber. Guess I’m dumb for reading. You dudes here are tamer than elsewhere. But the ups and downs, preconceived notions and holier than thou personas are something else.

I don’t know enough about you kids, but I hope Longhorn Catholic is just enjoying himself cause he doesn’t seem a very positive chap.

The UTSA QB was outstanding except for a few very crucial plays. Our defense is better than last year, but some of that difference is luck. The crappy throw and drop from UTSA that could have been 6. The pick 6 on a horrendous throw. The drop on 4th and 1. None of that went in our favor last year. We’re missing too many tackles, but the 2nd and 3rd waves are very quick to arrive.

I am not totally sure what to make of Card. It seems several persons think Sark doesn’t trust him. He’s navigating the pocket better now. He hasn’t made many risky throws. He’s had several nice runs. The last two weeks the offense has been less functional when we are playing conservatively.

Still on track for 10 wins.

I think 10 wins is very optimistic. I'll be happy with 8 in the regular season and thankful for more.

Yeah this room is very up and down and lots of complaining. Much love but maybe we don’t start getting the tar and feathers ready after a bad quarter against a good team with solid coaching and 5th year QB? It was an obvious trap game and everyone knew that everyone knew it. Proud of how the boys kept it together and responded. Harris was super slippery and it allowed a lot more third down conversions than you’d hope. Will need Ewers back Soon but Card is getting better and very proud of that scamper on 2nd 22.

Yeah it appeared he just overran his route out of the back of the end zone and the corner happened to put a hand on him. They finally called another one later.

A few comments after watching the game and reading this thread:
-UTSA QB has exceptional pocket awareness. I thought we had him sacked at least 10 times.
-Hudson Card did not complete any long passes but he did not have any turnovers and had a huge run for 1st down.
-Longhorn Catholic must have been drinking during the game or he should have been.
-Lowell Galindo appeared to be cheering for UTSA. He is very annoying and I hope I don’t have to listen to him again.

Based on performance against common opponent--University of Houston-- Tech is not way better than UTSA.

It's part of ESPN (their in depth articles on athletics and society) so not sure it's even buying time.

After going with 3, 5, and 3 regular season losses before Sark, 8-4 is about the minimum to say we at least returned to what we already had after a one-year aberration.

Will be interesting to see how we do our first game away from home. Lubbock may always be dangerous, but we have won 5 in a row there and they don't look very good this year.

I have not gone back and read Longhorn Catholic's post for this one game.
But I can state with 100% certainty LC is one of the most positive and bleeds burnt orange. It was a frustrating game but nothing LC or any others posted last night should be construed by new posters as negative toward the team

You will also notice LC is a sponsor which means he understands there are costs to running this site which should not be borne by Dion alone.

Tech may be meh this season, but you can be sure Tech will rise up and play inspired Sat. Their fans will treat it like the Superbowl. Tortillas will be flying.

Hopefully Card's ankle will be a week better.

I'm optimistic QE might return as early as WV.... certainly by ou - 4 weeks removed from Bama game.

They look a lot different and dangerous under this new coach. Hopefully, this will be our last trip to Lubbock.

This is a different Tech team. Some of the early 2000's teams were talented but the team that played ncstate last night just felt different than tech in the past. Pretty obvious Card just cannot throw the deep ball but he seems to throw the mid range pretty well. Cant believe his 22yrd run last night. Big play at a big time! The d was a tale of 2 halves. Not sure how the injuries to utsa ol impacted any of that but a win is a win. That targeting call on O was BS. I have no faith that the big12 will over turn that just so they can dig at Texas one more time. Dont recall any injuries for us so that was good.
