First game is Aug 18, which is 2 weeks from tomorrow. Question for the year: can the soccer program outshine the football team like they did last year?

Don't disagree, especially when Byars gets back from her Team USA obligations. But, we're barely on the national radar. We've got a TOUGH matchup coming against UNC, which will go a long way. We need to make sure our RPI is high. I don't have doubts that we'll make the tourney, but soccer hasn't seemed to be too kind to us in terms of NCAA matchups (and they've snubbed us in the past completely too). But, we are a MUCH improved team!!! I'm excited!!! Hopefully we can start climbing in the polls and get on the radar of others.
What I saw in the first game was far, far fewer passes without purpose (or maybe just poorly executed) than I have seen in seasons past. It gruntled me.
Well, we got a few more votes (to 16 from 11) but technically fell a little in the RV section. OTOH UNC rocketed to #1. Tomorrow will be a FUN game!!!

Texas loses 0-2. Texas had at least 3 shots on goal that should have been scores. The first goal by UNC was a brain fart by UT’s defense. The 2nd goal happened because Texas was aggressive offensively in trying to tie the score (as they should). Good test for a team which I think could learn from it and get better.
Yeah, we were completely outclassed but still had our chances. This game showed the team what needs to happen to go from very good to elite.
North Carolina’s team is built on speed, speed, and speed! They were so much faster than our girls. Their dribbling, passing and ball control was also amazing! Ange Kelly has a long ways to go to build a program of that caliber. Madden did a great job at the goal and our defense was good but NC finally just beat us down. Look forward to see how we do against Florida especially since Baylor beat them 2-1.
The shot advantage (not to mention the SOG advantage) is enough to show that we just aren't in that league. But, it's a pathway. This game will be good for us. There's a reason this UNC team shot up the rankings (9 or 10 spots) after the first week.
Does anyone know why a bunch of people were sitting on bleachers/benches on the track? Both along the touchlines and behind one of the goals.
Wow! What a GREAT comeback win for the Horns! I thought it was over when they were down 2-0 but the were tenacious!!! Guess I’m not ready to give up on Angela Kelley just yet!
Played TCU to a 1-1 tie. Think Lexi got injured, though. TCU's score was a PK, which stinks. During the match, they said that Big 12 RPI was horrible. Texas is 69 right now even though we are 25 in the poll. That doesn't bode well for us.
Most B12 teams RPI will improve as conference play goes on. Ours is down to 37 now. B12 has 3 teams in top 50 now & 6 top 100, increasing from 2 & 5 last week.
1-0 shutout of Baylor, in a game where we were outplayed for much of the contest, but kept BU from finding the equalizer. We miss Missimo's presence very much.
