I’m not happy about a kid getting hurt, but just trying to set the stage. We know Neyor and Junior are out Worthy, Ewers, good to go. Overshown starts over that BS targeting call that kept him out of the first half. There WAS a drop off without him. Billingsley back next week. IT looks healthy… OU does not. But I think OU has some challenges. Most are conjecture based upon my crack research BTW. 1. Gabriel will not play. No way he steps in after being on concussion protocol. If he did- and gets hurt. The fallout is huge for OU. Regardless, I think he sits. ** OUs QB2, is UTs walk on. Wright and Murphy are better than whomever OU rolls out. 2. Billy Bowman the starting S. Left the game against TCU with a lower leg injury. I think he’s out or OU would say he’s good. 3. Two RBs, Gray and Major I think are doubtful. 4. Harmon- S who was carted out for a head injury. I’ve heard nothing and that’s good because he must be ‘ok’, but he ain’t playing. 5. OT Morris- wore an arm sling last week after leaving the game??? 6. Redmond a DL out knee 7.Anderson an OL, ?? 8 WR Theo Wease left the game last week, didn’t return. Someone send this to Sark- Stop the run. Stop the run. They have nothing else. Man to man bump and run DBs, on obvious 3rd down passing- blitz as much as you can. Wear this worn out OU D down! Hurry up offense, do, go, go…go for 4th and 3 or less like Tech did once we cross the 50. Kick a FG, don’t risk loosing 1 point if given the chance. Hopefully OU updates us in the outs. I get playing close to the vest on the doubtfuls and Gabriel…
NR - very good speculative injury scouting report!! Suspect the sooners will be scrambling to fill the holes, but they got some level of backup talent and will come out fired up. I think a big key is Horns hitting 'em HARD in the mouth from the get-go and score points. Put early doubts in sooner minds and go from there....
You right. If in FG range kick the 3 once in range. Every point will make OU pass more. Otherwise go for it.
Concur that it is less likely that Gabriel gets to play...the NFL issues in the past week have really shined a light on concussion protocols.
mb is right about NFL protocols But I thought the NCAA had similar protocols. We even as fans should want what is best for player long term.
NCAA does have similar protocols...and I am guessing they were generally ignored at about the same level. The heightened awareness means that the non-football types will be injecting their two cents because 'these are just kids...'
Dillon Gabriel injury: Oklahoma football may use 'quarterback roulette' against Texas Longhorns, analyst says
Seems like we always get a backup to come in and hammer on us…. Hopefully we are prepared for it this year..

LB - Shane Whitter - out for rest of season due to shoulder injury* This is on top of losing transfer LB TD Roof back in August with a torn bicep. * this leaves ou with 4 scholarship LB's on the roster for Sat.
Never, ever underestimate the OU athletic program to act with complete disregard for ethics, morality, or the safety and welfare of student athletes.
VSIN had a land thieves radio guy on just a bit ago...his claim is that Gabriel had been at practice, not being kept out of the light, but also not DOING anything at practice. He then also added that 'concussions are not exactly a game-day decision.' He did not seem to feel that Gabriel would be on the field of play except walking to and from the tunnel. He ALSO opined that the line movement that we saw this week was not something that could reasonably be attributed solely to QE being announced as the starter, so the discussion used that as another indicator against Gabriel taking a snap... I did have to do a double take in an earlier segment when Vinny Magliulio questioned why the game was such an early start, that Vegas deserves better than a 9A (local time) kick on Red River. I guess he missed that this game has been relegated to an early start far too many times in the past several years...
I said this in the Who Should Start thread. OU's 4th string QB or a 5 foot running back, or both, could be Hypesman frontrunners come 2:30 PM mañana.
Sounds like this could be 38-3 by halftime! Sark seems to not run up scores a-la MB back in the day. We’ll see. I predicted 45-20 Texas. I’m thinking based on this, I could take away an OU TD, and give it to Texas!
If he can beat OU by 34+ points, which no other Texas team has ever done, it would erase some of the heartache of last year for sure.
I'll be very happy with a 1 pt. Victory. Like you said, our defense likes to make hypsman winners of their players and the talent level never seems to matter.
Everybody needs to just tap the brakes on these 30-point win predictions. Maybe so, maybe not. Weird stuff has happened before, and this team needs to show it can actually BEAT OU before we start talking about dominance. This game is more mental than any other game on our schedule. It's been that way as long as I've been watching.
Agree Prod. Don’t like it but I agree. Am hoping with all hope for a beat down but will be sooo happy with a victory because years previous have made me skeptical, regardless of who’s favorite.
I think some of you misunderstood my post. What I was trying to say was that it's crazy talk to think we're going to win by less than 30.
I'm really upset I couldn't talk Circa into writing me a Texas -48 ticket to parlay with the under...
