George Bailey No beans in my chili, thank you

Outside of Emory Bellard and Gene Stallings, I can't think of an aggy coach I would've wanted in Austin. It sure wouldn't be any of their recent clowns.

I know everyone here hates him, and he cheated his *** off, but Jackie is a helluva coach.

I'd take Darrell Dickey and Sherman as assistants in a heartbeat.

It's somewhat startling to me that @Gladius&Pilum hasn't been seen since, ohhhh I don't know, maybe the week of the App State game, and hasn't graced us with his insightful predictions about the upcoming Roll Tide contest. I seem to recall he was all over the place after last year's tilt with 'Bama.

Don’t you think that Captain Jack was like Barry in that he was all about winning and was not going to let a few rules get in his way. He just did not give a **** and did what his Big Cigar handlers and administration wanted, win at all costs. And win he did. Wasn’t he the coach at Pitt when they beat SMU in the Cotton Bowl? That was one of the dirtiest college football teams I have ever seen.

Never forget the time I was taking a leak at the SW Conference kickoff luncheon and he walked in. On his way out he acknowledged me and, you guessed it, he pissed and did not wash his hands. A man ought to wash after a piss, don’t you think?

    Worster,

We used that season and that game in recruiting against SMU. I particularly remember my letter to Edwin Simmons pointing out that SMU was the ony team in the country that went undefeated and still wasn't ranked #1. Couple that how miserable Dickerson was at SMU, and while being the best college back in the country, he didn't win the Hype$man because he was at SMU and NOBODY cared.

I called it my "SMU Letter" and my secretary typed many of those before we had PCs. Needless to say, I was not close friends with Ron Myer nor Bobby Collins.

Herschel Walker was the best RB in college at the time.

Herschel didn't make as good a story for a kid from Hawkins. I believe Georgia did win the Natty. Whatever those "facts" may have been, the use of Dickerson worked and left us battling Barry for Simmons.
