Everyone of you guys are missing the most important outcome from winning last Saturday in Dallas:

Texas is back on track to finish 8-4 this season, which was the goal for many on this board.

    Flame away!

Keeps us on track for 10 wins.

This teams goal should be a Big 12 title. We control our own destiny right now. We are the most talented team. We are the most balanced team. We have to be top 3 in terms of confidence.

I said 7-5, and while I'd love to be wrong at 10-2, I still think we're capable of losing some remaining games. We've gone from a very mediocre conference schedule to one with potentially 4 more ranked teams.

My bigger concern was whether we'd show improvement on defense heading into 2023 and beyond. I think that's been somewhat addressed to this point, and anything else is icing heading into the eventual expanded CFP.

I’d say all possible outcomes are on the table.

I’m not concerned about rankings. KU, while a great story thus far, is likely not a legit top 25 team. TCU is probably overrated at this point. Their defense was giving up yards and points to Gabriel, a backup KU QB was lighting them up and they didn’t blow out a mediocre SMU. They are no doubt a threat but are hitting the meat of their schedule. Bus defense looked awful last night. KSU is solid, but their pass game seemingly has limitations. OSU is very good, but they won’t put talent us. Their RBs are average and Sanders still has to show he’s not a turnover waiting to happen. In spite of 5-7 last year, no one manhandled us. All those teams that beat us lost more and gained less.

We have 1st team all conference candidates at each position/group on offense and defense. Not everyone can say that. And as of now, we’re healthier than we’ve been since the season started.

    We are well positioned.

Another positive outcome is to see less ou emblems on the cars in my town.

I see Texas having trouble with either OSU or KSU. Not both. OSU is the best team in the conference until someone beats them. The above game are on the road. Apparently we have not yet climbed that hurdle in 2022. Texas needs to be a good road team. Do that and we’re 10-2!

OSU still scares me. Baylor, KSU, and Kansas, not as much.

Me thinks osu beats the frogs by 10 on Sat.

@Stoolwater concerns me the most at this point. ksu @ Little Apple is my second biggest concern. Horns beat frogs and bears in Austin, @ ku.

I think winning in Stillwater will take the small things we saw in Dallas, no special team's busts, a single turnover that the defense overcame and 2 PENALTIES FOR 10 YARDS. If they do those things and get to Sanders and the OL plays like it did in the Cotton Bowl, I like our chances. But I think all of those things have to happen. As for KSU, Mack took a lot of superior teams up there and won 1 time when we blocked a FG on the final play. Both games are very winnable and very losable.

But we will not be out coached by OSU for the first time in a decade.

I’ve watched the game 3x now.
Boys and girls- Texas simply was more physical across the board.
OL , DL, LB, DBs, WR (blocking with pancakes), our RBs ran them over physically and the TE. It was a one sided physical game. OU looked like they didn’t want to play after the 1st quarter.
Texas played like we have all been waiting for.

The Sooners are lifeless. TCU had already garroted them. And I have not forgot the tech game. We could win out (we do have the talent) or we could drop a few (old habits die hard) Which is why we must maintain FOCUSNESS.
you all know we play Iowa state this weekend and those shitbirds have beat us 3 years running right?

    Btho Iowa state!

What’s funny is that the OU fanbase lambasted Riley for not coaching toughness.
They were giddy when Venables was hired as he was going to restore physicality to the the team.
I see no evidence to support this.

Now USC is 7th while OU has become a laughingstock.

I would love to see an 8 game streak to end regular season at 10-2 but I also see OSU and TCU as being really tough and that KSU and Baylor are not pushovers. Right now 8-4 still seems like a realistic finish. The Big XII is stacked this year with very solid to very good teams and its not hard to see Texas dropping two more games with so many underclassmen starting and lots of growth still needed. If the Horns can win 9 games this year that is a success with more than that just gravy.

    7-30 wasn't manhandling? 21-40 wasn't manhandling?
