I figured we would lose too. I thought duece and a mobile qb would destroy us and they almost did. We got a couple of good breaks at the end. All the frikn mindless penalties and zone D are about to give me a heart attack. Glad we won but just like Iowa State, we got lucky for sure.
Can we just ENJOY this for the night! That’s a very good team we beat tonight! Regards, Bijon Mustardson
Glad we won, also glad we had a 31-10 halftime lead because without the turnove/td just before half we likely lose that game. I just can't figure out why the offense sucks so bad in the second half. Again with 31 in the first half and 3 in the second.
We did not get lucky, We scored 34 points and it was enough to win. The defense stepped up to hold off their second half surge causing crucial turnover. Nothing to do with luck. But there was the turnover/td. We could have lost this game in many ways. But we didn't. Because we scored enough points and the defense was enough when it needed to be.
Good news: 1. We won 2. We have a shot at this - Big XII is within reach 3. Home game against undefeated, top 10 TCU - couldn’t write a better script for us 4. aggy and ou lost let’s get DKR rockin’ like the Bama game. You saw what happens to Bama (UT, LSU), Tennessee (Georgia), Horns (Tech, KSU, Okie St) - home field advantage by fan noise is legit
Texas leads the nation in QB pressures with 194. Yes you read it right. But an 8% conversion rate which is near the bottom. The boys up front were fighting their *** off and the effort was real. Just have to finish. And eventually it was the Dline that finished it. Twice with unlucky bounce out.
You are right, we seem to get there but can’t make the tackle or finish the play. We did that on the last drive against bama when young got out of it and scrambled to get them in fg position. It happened several times yesterday.
Coburn was so exhausted he couldn’t even muster the energy to celebrate the most significant play he’s made as a Horn. Truly left it all on the field
I feel like giving up less than 22 a game on defense is sufficient to not have to make it the scapegoat every game. I feel like Tech and OSU are the only games we gave up more than their average. We've held every other team under their average on defense. And we held Vaughn in check, and their whole rushing attack averaged less than 4 yards per carry. They can definitely improve. But grinding on Coach K should be under control. It's very obvious the issue is 2nd half offense. I read how we did more keeping the D on their heels in the first half. Is it only playcalling? Is that it?
I agree with HIC & George - Buc-ee’s is way overrated. Overcrowded, mediocre food and overpriced merchandise.
We had a whole bunch of friends over for my birthday party; watched that awesome Astros game and recorded this one. Watching with 30-second skips today was interesting. Our turnovers were a big factor in their near-comeback. I shudder to think what might have been had we not stripped the ball from Martinez.
Kids and mothers like the inside and dads like the cheap gas. A low percentage will use the restroom only. Money will be spent and everyone is happy.
Clean bathrooms, sausage biscuit or kolache, Dr Pepper Icee. Breakfast of champions. Skip the lines for everything else.
My preferred stop on my travels to Austin is Hruska’s in Ellinger. Love the selection of kolaches. And Peter’s BBQ nearby is decent.
Sabre, The convenience store biz is weird sometimes. The Stripes in Waco sold out to 7-11. My first job as a high school kid was an assistant mgr. of a 7-11, back in the glory days of the Thompson brothers. That biz has always been back and forth with ownership changes. Sounds like Susser has done well with the petro transportation side also.
