Top 4 is crucial, but being #1 is very nice.

The upcoming match with TCU has been canceled due to non Covid related illness so Texas will be credited with the Win. I’m sure they’d much rather play it.

It appears Texas had already traveled there or in route when they found out. It’s got my curiosity up, but we’ll probably never know the details.

Texas Tech made it to Austin with a really depleted team (including no Setters), so if TCU couldn’t put a team on the floor at home it must be a drastic issue. More to the story?

Texas wins Set 2 , but lost a challenge near the end that was blatantly not overturned. Both announcers agreed with Texas and thought it was a no brainer to overturn. Shades of the match at ISU that definitely played a part in the loss. I call ********!

Wednesday night vs Kansas can clinch a share of the Big 12 title since Baylor was upset by TCU today. Match is at 6pm right before the men tip against Gonzaga. Tickets still available texassports.com/tickets

So with Texas signing five players…..1 MB, 3 hitters, 1 setter,…..who is going to replace Eggleston? Skinner and Molly will be back, but will the replacement be Hahawa(sp) or one of the freshmen? Eggleston will leave a huge void.

We have had other players leave a huge void in the past. We have consistently overcome, and remained an elite program despite the various comings and goings of individual stars.

Devin Hahawai(sp also) is a good candidate. So is Parra. Frankly, I am equally concerned about replacing Zoe Fleck as I am Eggleston. We can find hitters and blockers, but Zoe's elite libero play is really hard to replace.

Horns have 3 libero on team other than Fleck. Halter is the obvious choice. Akana and Heinrich. With no additional libero currently identified, Elliot may feel good about that. Or he is waiting on a portal libero. Last year’s portal really revolutionized how Elliot fills out a roster. We’ll see when it happens. We sure have lots of hitter options. I remember when the Cali hitter Sun suddenly left. Elliot got Eggleston to graduate early to fill that role. Just wondering if one of the candidates stands heads and shoulders about the other hitters.

We have hitters already on the team like Parra, Miller and Kahahwai. P and K have already shown how well they hit. I'm guessing Molly move back to the center.

I cant remember the reasoning behind moving Phillips out of middle. Perhaps she goes back while giving Singletary and Buntin time to develop. That would open hitter positions to Skinner, Parra, Hawahaha, and allow Byrd and others to develop. Just wondering if Parra, Hawaha or others are better than the incoming. Realizing O’Neal, Eggleston, Fleck, and others only have a handful (or few more) games left before this discussion REALLY gets serious.
