What I care is that Texas plays everyone in the league on a somewhat regular basis. It is absurd that Aggy has been in the SEC 11 years and played Georgia all of one time.
That is a feature for aggy - they can say they play in the toughest league without actually playing, you know, the toughest teams. Aggy logic 101.
Sound terrible. You can't even use head-to-head to break a two way tie since the two programs in question likely won't have played each other. With a nine game conference schedule, a team will only be able to play 60% of the other schools. Then with a large number of schools in a tie, you can't use a 'who you played' metric very well to break the tie.
You're talking about the aggy program who has avoided both 10-0 Georgia and 9-1 Tennessee this year??
This sucks for aggy, at least now they can usually claim 3rd or 4th place. Looks like they'll now be habitually 8th or 9th.
SEC ready? Yes: All Women's sports & most Men's sports are ready. Several sports UT will dominate and many will be very competitive. But the biggie........ uhh, football? Uhh, Sark and CDC are working on SEC ready!
Texas is SEC ready in everything but football. Wouldnt shock me if in Texas' first year in the conference it won more overall SEC titles than every other school in conference. But no one will care about that if football crashes and burns and that is just reality. I disagree with it but I know the reality of how it will be perceived.
Correct, basically everything but football. Soccer won the Big 12 this year (undefeated in conference play), and all our Olympic sports are excellent.
As football goes we aren't even Big XII ready, but I'm not the one claiming we're a playoff team every year. Aggy can't help themselves which is why it's so funny.

They've been a perfectly legitimate team to schedule several years in advance for quite a while. They're down this year. Next year they could be the highest ranking G5 team in the country.Life is about more than being petty.

I agree with this completely. No team in the SEC, other than A&M, will circle the date they are scheduled to play us. None of the other teams will have players that wish they had been recruited by Texas. Sadly, Ho-hum. We will be just another game.
No team gives an extra crap now. We've been in college football world in the past and most likely in the future. Today we're just another team.
Like the first big hit on the rookie, or picking on the ‘new’ kid, they’re going to mark Texas and OU on the schedule.
If this screws up TX-OU I'll be pissed. Pods makes most sense, you play everyone once every 4 years, and play OU, Arkie, and aggy every year. come on man...
